Hoping so, LAN was supposedly offered. But the game might ship with this steam-**** being mandatory. In which case you can't even play the single player parts without internet...

But they refuse to release definitive information.

Man, back when Steam was first released, I foresaw this junk. Killed PC gaming for me, so I bought an Xbox.

Yeah, why have a LAN party if you're just gonna play online anyway? Might as well stay home.

Are you guys kidding me?

If no internet is detected, steam starts in "Offline mode." If internet is detected, you can still opt to use the "offline mode." Furthermore, Lan games work perfectly fine over steam in offline mode.... as long as you own a legit copy and it's been activated once.

Furthermore. Since most lan's don't have 100% legit copies, you can sign on steam on their computer with a legit account activate it, and then proceed to play in offline mode.

So, you guys are just 100% wrong.

Just saying, don't slander stuff without knowing the facts first. I mean Steam has been around damn near 8 years now.... and it's ALWAYS had Offline mode.

WTF?

P.S.

Modern Warfail 2, doesn't have lan because of IW.net... not steam. Get your facts together chief. Was playing Counter-Strike and Source and Day of Defeat S back when steam was still a new born on lan. So... qq more.

But we don't want to activate games or whatever that is. We want to stick the CD in our offline machines and have it work.

It's because this is AvsP, but if I can't install this game on my offline machine, it will be the last game I'll buy from these people :/
