Tell me about your love for Mighty

Okay guys... I've heard some of you talking about Mighty the Armadillo as if he were only slightly less classic than Amy.

I approve of this love because I'm from Texas. But other than that, it confuses me. What is it about Mighty that most of you find so acceptable, if you don't mind me asking? I've never seen a game he's in, you understand.

I only like mighty from Knuckles chaotix. He was cool character to me. He's a creative type of Sonic....instead of other hedgehogs we have now...

Mighty's only been two games anyway, and SegaSonic the Hedgehog is very obscure. I like him for the personality that he was given (he WAS given one, contrary to belief. And it didn't include super strength), but I'm not too keen on him coming back right now.

Just found that thread. Wow; I had no idea that Mighty and Ray predated Sonic 3!!! And Mighty himself is based on the original model for Sonic?

An unoriginal story idea is coming to mind...

Mighty the Armadillo and Ray the Flying Squirrel, competing against Sonic and Tails to see who saves Mobius from Dr. Robotnik first!

If you get terrible time scores, then you get the "bad ending". Robotnik and his forces are defeated, but the flickies and animals praise the other team as their saviors instead of you!

EDIT: Okay, SEGA. I want you to work out the emulation problems and release Sonic Arcade for us on a home system. I'll buy it!

I never had a chance to play the two Sonic games Mighty was in but I found out about him when reading the Archie Sonic comic. Mighty seemed like a cool character plus he was an armadillo, an animal you can find pretty much anywhere in Mississippi so my then young mind formed a connection to the 'dillo.

Mighty was there from the beginning believe it or not, in fact, before they decided to use a hedgehog, their first decision was an armadillo, hence where mighty comes into play.

Before tails & knuckles, Ray & Mighty were the original two teammates of the three musketeers, but sadly now the only chance you'd have of seeing them more often is in the comics. I think it was in SegaSonic that their personalities slightly showed, but seeing as how its an arcade game barely anybody knows about, nobody could tell how cool either one of them were. Although if they found some way to give it a console port, it probably would spark some interests for both classic and modern fans (granted they would have to tweak the controls a bit ala analog stick for that rolling ball, or something).

Chaotix was the last time we ever saw mighty, but it wasn't like he was even part of the team to begin with. His background story back then got changed to him being a wanderer, traveling everywhere for adventure (or something like that) in chaotix and just HAPPENED to be at the same place everyone else was... so when you think about it, Knuckles Chaotix is actually "Team Chaotix With Special Guests Knuckles & Mighty". And we all know that before chaotix, it was just another sonic game that got scrapped (I.E. SOnic Crackers)... even sonic retro (yea i know, another S.R. link =/ but it prooves my point) is finding sonic & tails sprites in chaotix. But yea, whether or not they cant use mighty anymore because of the original creator quiting and taking the rights with him is another story as well.

I just think Mighty is like Fang/Knack... they both had that "thing" that made them cool and fit in perfectly with the rest of the classic roster. A character that's ovelooked and can have ALOT of potential if given another chance.

That first armadillo isn't necessarily Mighty, I've said that before!

And that copyright jazz has been debunked for ages.
