1 thing that not so good in Genesis Sonic games is that you never know when you will die under the water until last 5 seconds. I think it's better if player can see how many oxygen he has left in every moment, cause this way he can understand what to do - whatever he want or find oxygen bubbles.
What you think?

bologna, part of the fun in old sonic games is rushing to see if you can live when you think you're about to drown =P

Not necessary, there was this little noise that sounded every now and then to show how long Sonic was underwater. After it rang 4-5 times, that's when the countdown started.

I kinda prefer no meter simply for the tension underwater sections bring.

I prefer it when you suddenly see "5" and you have to scramble for a bubble as fast as you can.
Of course, you also get that music. >:D

No, if you play the 2D games as long as someone like me, you can tell when those 5 seconds are going to come up.

Yeah they give you warning sounds before the actual countdown. But I guess since a lot of you guys are noobs when it comes to the old school games youd want an oxygen meter...hahahah an oxygen meter in a sonic game. What do you guys want next? A health bar?

Heh, yeah...one of the things I didn't like about Sonic CD is instead of that music in Tidal Tempest, they had this "whooping" sound when the "3" appeared...

I don't like because the scary music scares us, and it makes it too easy because we'll know when to get bubbles.

You get 10 or 15 depending on the game.

Yes 1,2,3 CD you get 10 and in other games you get 15 like in SA2

Hmm. I haven't been a Sonic fan that long, though.

The fun of being underwater is to see that 5 and hear the music, scream:'OH NO, OH NO, I'M GONNA DROWN! I NEED A BUBBLE! WHAT DO I DO?! WHAT DO I DO?!' Then you drown and curse at the game and all water levels in video game history. Its just not the same with a meter.

You can count in your mind.
