Will Sega Provide Customer Support/Repairs for a Dreamcast with a import chip in it?( http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=42&products_id=68&)
I got the Import Chip because they are still making really good Dreamcast games in Japan and a few of the good ones have English menu's and Dialogue/Text in the game.

Probably NO.

because the Import Chip 4-wire is made by Lik Sang Manufacturing not sega. and they ended support for the dreamcast only sega of japan.

you should still ask

Its a good thing that the DC isn't broken :P so could I get support from the National Electronics Service Association? They aren't Sega, or would I be better off finding someonewho runs their own shop?

Actually they probably would fix it. The only problem I could forsee, is a warrantee issue if the console was still under warrantee, because like everything opening the console voids it. But you could pay someone to fix it. Unfortunatly, its probably cheaper just to buy a new one at this point than to get one fixed.

Besides Mod Chips are lame anyway. Its better just to use a boot disk. Same price and it doesnt require modifying your DC.

I bought my DC from www.Lik-sang.com and It came pre-modded so I didnt actually do it myself... Although if i did have to do it myself I would be useing a Boot Disc right now. By The Way does anyone know where I can get a DC for relatively cheap?(I'm looking forr a spare or 2 and in case this one ever messes up for me although it is working flawlessly)

Official Dreamcast Repair
http://www.sega-parts.com/products/repair-prices.htm

I'm not sure the "best" and cheapest place to buy a Dreamcast, but I know Gamestop ( www.gamestop.com ) and EBgames ( www.EBGames.com ) have used ones for pretty cheap. I've seen them as low as $15 with a game (like Crazy Taxi or Space Channel 5)

Yes, I know I stare at the Dc's at ebgames.com for hours at a time and then get angry with the words under the picture "Only Ships to Customers in the U.S" :evil: -_-;
