(POLL) Phantasy Star Anthology (Phantasy Star 1 thru 4)

Would you like "Sonic Team" to produce an *updated* Culmination of the original saga, for the Genesis, for the X-Box, PS2, GC, or even the next generation systems? I personally would. The game would, of course, be a 1-player, turn-based decendant, like the RPG's of old, but with a next gen look, and a more in-depth storyline. Also the game would sport next generation graphics through out the game. Also it would have an attack combo system, reminiscent to that of the one that was created solely for "Phantasy Star 4-End of the Millenium".
If this sounds like it would be a fantastic game, for new and old fans alike please post. /agree or /disagree.

pft, you need to make it fast, and better combat variations,and screw the specific attacks Hard normal special, just do it your own way and if you follow an awesome combo, you do, and theyll be fast combos hard combos, and some youll be able to mix with others. and the special abilities will activate randomly, or accumulate and you can activate for a short time, or they'll charge over time or something. that ud be pretty cool

I so agree with that. I'm a huge sega fan and I lucked out and got every game and system right before the bottom fell from it, and I'm still a big sega fan, the Phantasy Star line especially. The art and game play of the PS line, even the remake seems more like the art the GameCube is advertising but sega isn't selling to that group and seems more to be trying to compete with the FF series. I say Sega should release some of the older games on the GC because these are user who bought the PSO line and like it and would look forward to more sega and buy. I want PS4 on GC

well people, as from what i've seen from PSU, thats kinda what sega is doing. ( though not with a remake ) they are mixing pso and the old ps games to make a new one. nobody knows what the exact idea behind it its but if you have played some of the ps games,a dn seen the PSU trailer, then you can really see the old ps style, mixed with pso. So no, no more single player ps, we will get something better, we will get mmorpg ps ( thats what i think )

3 is missing from the mix, most likely because sega has called it a Gaiden (side story) and doesn't consider it as a legitimate part of the story anymore.

Odd, I recall on The Master System, Phantasy Star.. then on Genisis/Megadriva, II, II and IV.

Phantasy Star Gaiden, III, was called Generations.
I have seen a phantasy Star Gaiden but i thought it was Game Gear or possibly Master System?

And Phantasy Star Gaiden, i thought was on GG or MS. Did not think Gaiden was part of the main story line and thuss was not titled as such

What i meant was Sega considers it to be a side story not dealing with the main plot line as stated in the Phantasy Star Compendium

Heres what i think they should do...


A Pso Game with a differant combat system... not just any combat system...


I think they should make a God of War meets Soul Calibur meets Halo 2 kind of fighting system

make it more of a streamlined game.... make it so if you want first person... you've got first person, you want 3rd person... i.e. God of war
you've got it...


But with enough kickass melee combo's to last a lifetime

Tech's and Range would also need some boosting... having quite thought that through yet...but i think it would be extremely fun...


(by the way... i 100% still love the currentl pso 1 & 2 system...)

ummm, this is for remakes
maybe u should be talkin under a whole new column, or maybve one of the old PSUs, or possible one for a new game for a handheld (DS is the best), or sumthin like that

I would love to see the whole series remade and packed together. It has to have #3 though; that was my first rpg ever. I've still never played the first game, so it would be worth getting just for that. Wasn't a complication made for the Saturn, but never released in the US?

#3 was an ok game, but if you played the other 3 of the series you would know its not part of the official storyline, maybe they should make it an unlockable treat fot those who complete the other 3, that would be kinda nice

oh and yes the saturn had a compilation that was never released in the US
and for those who dont recall they did release the first game for the megadrive in japan, they just chose not to translate it for those outside of japan....sucks for us huh?

So has there been any official reports on this? All the boards that I've seen which have spoke of a release date have retracted the date and have no further info on it... the ONLY site I can find that speaks of it only talks about the japanese version. Any information on this subject?

I wanted to know if anyone knew some soild information about the trilogy for PS2. I know EB games had it on their reserve list back in March or so, but where I work at, Gamestop, we never had it up for reserve. I know of one web page who is reserving it still, estarland.com, but the date just keeps getting pushed back every time its almost time to release. I want to know if its going to just be canceled or what if none of the main places are going to even carry it. Thank you
