Will they be remixed versions of classic zones or will they be all new songs?

Or maybe even both depending on which Sonic is played?

I think it will be remixed versions just like the green hill remix in the first gameplay video (the one from the spanish site). And I like it that way!

Could you please link me this as I haven't heard the track yet. :)

I was hoping they'd put the original BGM in first, and then you unlock remixes from other games and then finally...Crush 40 Soundtracks.

Sure: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hz8P5DDToEQ

Maybe we will be able to unlock new songs. I hope that the game will have loads of unlockables and thus a lot of replayability.

Thanks.

Indeed, since the music is always a plus for me when it comes to SEGA games in general...unlcoking various music post-game or whatever would definately make the game more enjoyable and gives fans a decision on what song they like most.

It would be similar to Brawl, in which you were able to unlock more music for the stage creator.
The remix as the standard, the original version as reward for completing the game, and a crush 40 version (or something entirely new) for getting an S-Rank on the stage (or at least something similar to that). That would be nice!

DarkFailure thank you for the video.

From what I could tell Classic Sonic has the original tracks, Modern Sonic has remixed tracks. Either that or they were just playing Geen Hill Zones music for the video.

I think obtaining an S Rank should unlock something more then just a track whereas if those Red Rings are available here that that should be a Crush 40 track...obtaining an S Rank should contain an extra (secret) Act for that Zone...so if you complete the secret Acts on all of the Zones then you get the "Final" story, that would fit much better but if they did little challenges such as not dying in a level or obtaining x amount of rings then yeah, that would be more suitable for music.

Secret acts by S-Ranks would mean loads of replayability. That's a pretty nice idea!
And experience system would be pretty nice, too. Unlocking songs with gained experience points sounds better than getting an S-Rank for it :)

Indeed it does...I remember when getting the last story for Chaos Emeralds it took me at least a few years to finally do...whilst not difficult unlike in Advance and Heroes, it provided a challenge for the player to memorise how to obtain those blue spheres to actually collect the Emeralds.

Whilst I still want the Collect Emeralds Mini Game to unlock an ending...I would like this ending to be one where it's neither a bad ending or good...your typical "Sonic saves the day" scenario...whilst hinting that the "True" Final Boss is still to be fought...until you S Rank the Levels that is....it actually reminds me of the Crash games (the third one), where the true ending was only obtained through getting Platinum Time Trials (even in the secret room)....Sonic would definately benefit from a three pronged story scenario....the simplist ending being for simply beating the game, a normal ending for the emeralds and the true ending for S Ranking the levels.

I think music wise they should unlock some cancelled tracks once you have obtained that final ending for your reward.

Starlight, I definitely recall the level designs within the Crash series. I found myself always trying to complete every level 100% clear. Whether it was collecting max amount of fruit, or gems, to finding every secret passage.

In Sonic Adventure 2, they were going for the same concept idea. Even though obtaining "all A-rank's" seemed impossible. Players that went the distance obtained a nice reward.

In Sonic CD, in-game bgm tracks would change depending on what time frame you were playing within. Sometimes the music would be darker, or happier. (* I'm curious to see if this design may come back in Gen)
