Alternating beetwen both Sonics or 2 Storylines/Campaigns?

What would you prefer?

Plundering through all types of gamplay in one playthrough like SA2/Unleashed?
Or get to choose seperatly like SA1/06/Nights JOD?

Personnally I'd prefer the former, since it's kinda unique to Sonic, since Adventure 1 made Innovation and was one of the first games where there where different storylines that have different playstyles/levels and the stories intertwined with each other. Same with the Night games(don't know about the first one). So it's kinda a trademark for Sonic, and fits better. Plus it would be better for the big amount people who just wanna play Classic Sonic stuff.

Given that I love both styles, alternating wouldn't be so bad. I'm not a fan of having to re-watch the same cutscenes multiple times, anyway.

yeah, campaigns would stretch the game out a lot longer. ina good way.

More specifically, they stopped doing it after Sonic 06.

I like the idea of two campaigns, but I have a feeling they can't do this if the ratio between modern and classic gameplay is uneven.

I'm unsure tbh. I voted separate campaigns but I guess my vote should have been it doesn't matter. It's all Sonic gameplay, just a different variant of it. So I can enjoy alternating just the same.

Former (SA2/Unleashed style), the two gameplay styles are not anything gimmicky for the Sonic franchise, and it'd keep me interested if the game alternates between then automatically.

Definitely alternating, especially if there is only one "Act" each for Classic and Modern per Zone. Playing through one act of GHZ as classic Sonic and then immediately moving on to the next zone would be too short.

Separate for the love of god! In the classic games you didn't switch to Knuckles or Tails after a stage with Sonic.

Whoever wants to play modern, chooses modern. Whoever wants to play classic, chooses classic. Whoever wants to play both.... then play both separately!

Don't make the same mistake as with Unleashed. Changing gameplay from one stage to the other breaks the pace, whichever you were at.

Well, I disagree with that.

In Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Unleashed, I have never felt the change of gameplay was breaking the rhythm. I prefer it this way, too.

I personally think it might play out like Colors where you can choose the order in which you play. Everytime an entire zone is completed it gets colored in and and then 1 or 2 time holes open up to the next stage. In order to beat the entire zone you have to play both Sonic's respective acts but you can choose the order. (Make sense?)

Both at once. Act 1 should be done with Classic Sonic, and then Act 2 should be done with Modern Sonic. Some levels should switch it up when Modern Sonic does Act 1, Classic does Act 2. Act 3 should be a boss fight, and you fight the boss with Modern. If you die, you fight the boss with Classic. If you die, you go back to Modern, etc. etc.

Takashi said there is a playable menu. so basically the story happens(NOT LIKE HEROES) then you pick who you want to tackle the level with classic sonic or modern sonic.
