Charles Barkley is my favorite sports athelete of all time. (I know, people like to critisize me for it, but I DONT CARE, if you want to argue with me go on)

Currently though:

Football:
Zach Thomas

Baseball:
Roy Halladay

Basketball:
T-Mac

Hokey:
Joe Sakic

Sakic...meh, you and my brother like him. I've never seen anything spectacular other than he probably has the quickest wrist shot of all time..

The Russian Rocket still gets no respect.

You your right, what's having the best wrist in the game good for in hokey. Your right why would I like someone like that?

Oh yea, maybe cuz that's what makes him good. That's an amazing feat to have especially in hokey

Stalin
11-08-2005, 11:09 AM
He plays a style that replicates that of what Mike Bossy did...so it's nothing that hasn't been done before..

I hold players like Bure and Neely higher than most anybody else because of the sheer talent they had.

In the modern era of Hockey, it's really hard to put many people on the same level as Bure...

Jagr comes close, Fleury could have been up there if he didn't turn into a drug addict..

Selanne is also up there...

But...I honestly can't see many people that have played their careers solely in the dead-puck era that have done what the Russian Rocket has done..

Few players have been walking highlight reels..

So what do you think about Crosby?

Stalin
11-08-2005, 11:50 AM
From what I've seen, he's nothing special..

I think he'll be a lot like an Eric Lindros type player..

He won't give you 50 goals a year, but he'll give you 20 goals and 40 assists a year.

SEGA4ConsolesAgain
11-08-2005, 09:48 PM
really? I agree he's not going to be the next best thing to come, but I think he'll be good for more than 20 goals, despite not having much around him.

Stalin
11-08-2005, 10:10 PM
Not much around him? He has Mario Lemieux and Ziggy Palffy on his line

SEGA4ConsolesAgain
11-08-2005, 11:01 PM
I ment to say not much help. Yea he's got them, but you see where they are now, sitting in last place. There good player, but not a good team.

Stalin
11-08-2005, 11:38 PM
Well Palffy's a big traitor, so screw him...

It'll be intresting to see what Rick Nash does when he's healthy again...he scored about 30 goals his rookie year, and he was only 19..

I think he's the next premier goal scorer rather than Crosby.

time will tell. I'm more of a fan of Nash myself than Crosby. Nash I think will have an even better season this year with the new rules. It's only going to help increase goals, so he'll definatly benifit from that. Crosby I dont see him lasting up to the hype. I forsee something along the lines of what happened to Grant Hill. Some sort of injury that sets him back and he'll never return to normal....I guess it just my pesamistic side talking tho

Eh...all my favorite players when I was growing up have been cut down by injuries, the last thing I want to do is think about it happening to a young person like Crosby....too many promising players have been cut down by career ending injuries..

I saw Cam Neely have to retire when he was at his peak from a hip injury..

Bure tore his knee when he was in full flight...and never fully recovered..

Vladimir Konstantinov parylized in a limo accident...

Bryan Berard got his eye nearly cut out from a high-stick off Marian Hossa's stick..

yup, it's the unfortunate truth to all sports.

I hope nothing happens to him as well.

i wonder, had a player like bure never have gotten hurt, would he have had a chance to break gretzky's goal record..
