Found out the mystery behind the "8th zone" (3DS)

Sorry if this has been posted before but I have searched and not seen anything so here goes...
Many people are claiming that the 3DS version will have 8 zones because the temporary US site showed 8 zones on the 3DS version while the Japanese only showed 7. So here it is: The Special Stage. Think about it, Japan doesn't have it because it isn't a zone, but it is a feature so it was included on the US site because it's between challenges and normal stages. What do you think?

Rush's Exception (final boss) already had references to Doomsday. Also, I think the song should be in the game (HD/3DS) but not the level though, the bosses they chose are better imo.
