At least as a downloadable though.
This game that premiered in 1995 is a cult classic, and to be honest, it seems like an awful load of fun to play, based off various videos I've seen, and DAT MUSIC. Personally, I would like to see it come back in the near future. :D

From what I've heard, it was meant to be in Gems Collection, but things went wrong with the emulating software or whatever, I don't know.

It'd be great if they did. Especially considering I lost the wires to my 32X.

Yes, I would love that. Knuckles' Chaotix deserved to be available on newer consoles.

I don't really care for it, but Sega should release it to gauge just how much Sonic fans want SonicfriendsSonic.
Actually, I just came up with a brilliant idea for Sega... why not... release a NON-SONIC, Sonic friends game! That way players can have their characters playable and they don't have to slow down Sonic!

:| Only if it's the same speedy platforming gameplay, done well.

Sure, why shouldn't it be?

The question is WHEN will they do it?
I'm hoping they do something like what they did with Sonic CD.
Heck.. maybe we could get additional characters, Sonic and Tails, with Insta-shield and Flying, for the console downloadable version. :D Taxman? ;D
I'd love to make that Sonic & Mighty team again..

I'm gonna assume we're talking 2-D here. Frankly I see why not, considering how the other characters have abilities that, along with the concept of genuine momentum based gameplay, can bring back elements such a more creative level design. Ironically I've realized that you can take away Sonic from the 2-D games with multiple characters and they are still fun, on the other hand remove the characters leaving only Sonic and the fun is reduced drastically.

The characters have always been fast, so I don't see a problem with that (they are only slowed down to make Sonic look good in 3-D), however on the plus you can already see a 2-D game where boost and HA is non existing, eliminating those badnick chains, replacing it with a more intelligent placement designed to make use of good old pinball mechanics that actually require skill. Even characterization, if it exists, may improve: Tails would again believe in himself to be up to the challenge, Amy would be seen for the sweet girl she is, not the Sonic fangril, etc.
As for a port of Chaotix: Heck yes, but also add Sonic, Tails and Amy (and not just for the sound tests, make her fully playable).

Hm. Yeah. I guess it's not a bad idea to steal the spotlight from Sonic for a while, and hand it to the Chaotix.

For the love of all that's red, spiky, punchy, and glidy, they should add online co-op.

I wonder if they will get around to porting the 32X titles. I'd love to see a collection of Chaotix, Tempo, Kolibri and Virtua Fighter.

Yes, with HD Modern Graphics.
Mighty will also have green eyes.

I've never gotten to play it, like Sonic CD. I really don't find many games for the SEGA CD or the 32X that are worth me buying the add-ons. I've always wanted a chance to play Sonic CD and Knuckles Chaotix but buying the stuff for it doesn't seem worthwhile for like....2 games. So yes, I'd like it.

Mighty will also have green eyes. That wouldn't work with his color scheme. Either blue or red would work.

I dunno. But hey, it'd be pretty cool if SEGA manages to pull it off.

I think I've seen him with Yellow. That would work too.
But for the time being, Mighty's immaculate classic design remains UNTOUCHED. :D

I played it back in 2001 (I don't think I'm allowed to say how i played it) hadn't been played it since but since then, I been wanting a port of the game, hopefully SEGA brings it to Xbox Live Arcade , Wii Ware , and PSN

This is one of my favorite games in the series, it could use the excellent engine used by the Sonic CD re-release.

Yes. This plus some local/onine co-op, with maybe a special feature that gives the rings an infinite length when you beat the game. If the co-op player gets lost, he quickly reappears from above.

It was a bittersweet game, it felt half finished and a lot of the levels were kinda bland and repetitive. It's fun for a quick play however and deserves a rerelease at the very least for collector's value.
I kind of like the idea of it being remade with some of the unused elements placed in (eg. unused animations and characters, original Sonic mythos like loops and water that were taken out in development). Might make it feel more like complete and fun experience.

This. Between the five acts each zone had it felt like there was about two or three acts worth of content with the rest of the level design being shared between them.
I'd definitely buy it but, IMO, it's weaker than any of the other classic 2D platformers. Maybe even some of the Game Gear ones. I'd be more interested in rereleases of Pocket Adventure and the Advance games.

I agree. At times the game felt too "empty". There must've been at most 4 badniks per level or something. And yeah, some water would've been nice. Some unique stage hazards too. Everything was just the same except with a differents skin. But hey, visuals were REALLY nice, and music was awesome too.

@Garterbelt: I agree that a straight-up port would be nice. Heck, I think it would be appropriate to show how the Chaotix were premiered at least.
