Sonic Drift

I'm thinking about trying this game since car games are kinda cool. Has anyone played this game before and would you recommend playing it?

I don't know, the game wasn't all that fun for me when I played it on SADX.

Skip the first and go straight for Drift 2. Has more characters, items, course variety and polished gameplay.

The first Sonic Drift is meh, but the second game is a little better than the first. I'd say get the second one because it's got more features than the first game.

I'm not a huge fan of the Sonic Drift games, but they were okay.

It's basically another generic kart racing game. If you must play any kart racing game, play the Mario Kart series. Otherwise, Riders is a lot more unique and fun.

I plaed them as a kid, and I still play them today.

They were always fun. Just remember its a racing game on an 8-bit system.

You'll get the hang of it fast. I say it's a really nice racing game. If anything yeah, the 2nd game is the superior one, just because it has three times the levels, more items, and a larger character roster.

It's one of the better spinoff Sonic games to me anyway. :P


In Sonic Drift 1 you race through locations of Sonic 1.

In Sonic Drift 2, you race through locations of Sonic 2, Sonic 3, and some places we've never seen before. (Emerald Ocean, Rainy Savannah, and Milky way zone are AWESOME.)

Sonic Drift? I hated it, personally. Found it rather boring. As everyone else mentioned, go for the second one if you do want to try it.

It is my second most hated sonic game after labyrinth. I wouldn't recommend it unless you want to try and play every Sonic game you can like me.

I really liked Drift, but Drift 2 is amazing. I was never into the GG games and imo Drift 2 is one of the best there.

Milky Way should be remade for some kind of Sonic Generations: The Spin-Off Collection :) The only track I didn't like in Drift 2 was Rainy Savannah. Most seizure-inducing Sonic level ever.

I honestly never understood why people consider Triple Trouble "the only good one" when in fact, Sonic 1, 2, and Chaos, have better gameplay. (I.E. no uncurling). I know you can re-curl, and sometimes it's great to re-curl off a spring bounce, but still, Sonic 1 and 2 feel like a Genesis Sonic game to some extent. Chaos is great, and Triple Trouble feels the most different of these. Sonic Blast has to be the weakest entry in the Game Gear platformers... BUt I like it as well anyway.

I think it could have been its story. It was great, and it did have Fang in it.
That, along with two playables, and some great levels and a very surprising ending boss made it better. The physics weren't as great but I'm not one to care about that.

I never got to play it as a kid. The only reason I even wanted it is because of the commercial on Sonic Jam.

It was kind of generic and didn't have much interesting. Sort of a straightforward car game. I wasn't that into any of the GG Sonic games period, honestly.

Are you kidding me? ZG is easily the worst of the Riders series. It hardly plays like a racing game.

Don't the riders series Suck. Its Impossible to control and too sluggish and repetitive. worst games ever.

It's probably not worth it TBH. There are a few good stages here and there, but the Gravity mechanics take away from the racing.
