View Full Version : No PSO 2 at E3 2012 [ sad face ]

PSO 2 isn't in sega's official lineup [ see my general chat thread for the list ], sad times so its pray for an English language option or learn Japanese or risk it all with an english patch [ huge sigh ].

Any thoughts ? What are you all going to do ?

cheers,

Vexy.

JP server. I learned my lesson on PSU EN/US. I already know most of the menus and Google translate is a click away.

And the EN patch won't likely be a risk. I doubt SEGA cares. It's not like we're hacking Meseta or S+10 Grinders or damage output or infinite life. All of which took place on PSU, and wasn't even properly fixed.

Yeah, PSO2JP+EN patch.

Oh yeah, an English option on JP would be cool, too.

It's possible it could still be a surprise announcement, got my fingers crossed.

Can't say that I'm surprised, but it's still a shame. I'll probably do the same as Aureus Vul'pes

I have that thought in the back of my mind too. If not, there's always room for a future release.

Obviously not. I wasn't expecting it. JP version either way for me.

Sucks for US i guess, JP server all the way, not gonna risk it a 3rd time with PSU service for US release

For some reason I don't think this is right.

1. Anarchy Reigns is listed and I don't know if Sega is doing anything with that game.

2. Jet set radio is only listed for the Vita and it's supposed be released on Xbox 360 and PS3 also.

3. Sega already listed their official line up and neither PSO2 or Anarchy Reigns is on it.

I didn't really look at any other sections other than Sega's, but from that I don't think this is the right information. Unless it's a leaked secret, I don't think PSO2 will be there.

One thing SEGA is doing a lot of with it is :):):):)ing people off by delaying the finished game to NA/EU audiences with no explanation.

Dosent matter to me one way or another.. When PSO2 officially drops, I'm there.. Been on JP for a while now, and it's really not that hard to learn, or memorize the menus....My PC is pimped and ready!

You could also use an english patch.

The English patch may not work on pso2.

The dev team has said that you can use the Closed beta client in the pre-open beta, it will just patch for the new content. They also said that if the open beta goes smoothly, they'll be able to release the game as is. This leads to a fairly reasonable expectation that things will work just fine.

However, do not mistake this for "lol it'll work just fine i guarantee it". I'm saying it's reasonably probable.

Really now? 0_0 That's quite surprising... since they probably aren't changing the main client executable, using the patch on the main game sounds very likely! Unless they actually plan to patch that, and didn't ever do that on JP PSU or even in the Closed Beta at all, than its almost guaranteed that we can use the patch :D

Thank you, that's really good to here actually!

Yeah. only reason I caught all that is because I struggled through the broken English translation of the post-CBT post that Sakai made on the blog. He mentioned "please not to uninstall client, use later" or something along those lines. I remember feeling like a moron for uninstalling the client upon reading it, since it wasn't posted right away. It was posted the next day, while I was trying to figure out what was wrong with one of my other programs, and I was blaming GameGuarbage. I was right, at least.

I'm not going to be happy if Sega decides not to release PSO2 here. I actually *want* to play this and having to jump through several hoops of Japanese walls of text just to get into it will detract from the experience for me. The lack of presence of the game at E3 makes me feel like they don't care for anything more than Sonic games and whatever else they think is popular. That combined with the lack of PSP2i here just shows they hate fans.

Basically - 1000~ "westerners" is not enough to make it worth it. It would cost them more to translate/localize/manage than they would ever make back from us. If you want to play this game as bad as me, learn Japanese, get an IP proxy for japan, test your luck with an english patch. good luck.

No thanks. I would rather wait for a US release than wade through Japanese text and a proxy just to play. If that's the only solution then Sega has lost me as a consumer.

I agree with Zeether, here. If that is the only solution for Western players, this would be the worst we have been treated by SEGA.

The trouble is and was that we in the west will be a good few months behind Japan PSO2 straight off the bat , were as we were only 1-2 months behind on PSU , so even if we do get PSO2 in the west eventually , a lot of content will have been and gone and we may never see some of it. Back to square one , I for one am going to play the Japanese PSO2 and a western one , just to make sure. I played PS2 and 360 PSU's and yeah look what happened I missed the Japanese one , never again.

Cheers,

Vexy.

The amount of money it would cost sega to put in English subtitles in the japanese version of the game, they would actually make all that money back off of their english customers. Hell I'm even ok with engrish.
