Rock music was blaring in the background as I walked in on the engineers, they were real slackers. I didn't mind because they usually never worked on my Hound. For the doubt I did care because they usually brought in the ammo and gear.
"Sir! COMBAS # 445 tower has been destroyed, we lost contact with camp Camerian." replied a stern young man. James use to be a foot soldier but now resides in this camp to work on radio.
"Alright, set communications to Alpha Beta Zero Two Two One. Just report it to command so we can get some people over there to invistage the problem." I told him as I leaned over to check the computer.
"Yes Sir." James said as he swirled the chair and his fingers danced along the keyboard.
"Commander Ariazi, we have lost 4 Hounds in around 0400 hours. Want me to send it to Command?" Jesse told me as she looked at a clipboard writing something down.
"Alright go ahead, just let me know if they are ever going to send some reinforcements at Sector 04" I told her as I continued on my path inside the camp.
"Aye aye sir."
I wasn't technically ranked Commander but when at times of war, and you lose your highest ranked person here...you are technically promoted to CO over the platoon of Hounds. I was still of course a Lt. and yet to have experienced hard core battles on the frontlines.
I sat down quietly in my dorm and turned on my computer.
"Good Evening Ariazi, Reports on the frontlines are coming in now."
I raised a eyebrow, usually reports from the frontlines are just footages so the rest of the guys here could learn tactics but something was wrong.
"This is General Odessa, Ariazi we have reports of a small rogue group in Tajin that have been disrupting our Hounds around Melton and Olenya Guba. They have been destroying so many of our Hounds it is unimaginary to think if we lose Olenya Guba. They are calling themselves The Red Rose or Rote Rosa. We dont know who they really are or which side they might be on but I know this for there not one of us. Since your closest to Tajin we need you and your platoon to go find them and destroy them."
"Sir, no disrespect but I have no combat experience except for maybe taking down several Hounds but that was with a group and I wasn't in command."
"We know that son, but we have no choice...look I didn't want to tell you this but its going to be a Suicide Mission. Im sorry but orders are orders, just take a small squad of 10 Hounds in Tajin and find them. They usually are hiding in the mountain range. Look Ariazi, I need to go. God Speed and Good Luck"
The video image disappeared and then I looked at the computer screen in confusion.
Why me? Well either way its for my country and I need to find these bandits in Tajin. I got up slowly and made my way towards the Hanger were everyone else hangs out.
I wasn't sure if I am ready to tell them that there going to die.

"Commander on Deck!" a Sgt. in green camos yelled out and everyone stood attention, it was almost like seeing fire on gasoline - literally.
I was greeted by Jesse once again to tell me about the shipment of ammo that has arrived, I nodded to her and then I brought my attention back to the men and women under my command.
"At ease." I ordered as they placed their hands behind their backs and looked towards me.
I walked around the hanger for a bit, and I bet from their faces they looked confused about me not saying a word for a minute. I took in some air and then walked up some steps up a stairway that was infront of a Hound, there was a small flag that hung undearneath the Hound - the flag of Morskoj.
"Ladies and Gentleman, most of you would not dare join my on any mission due to that I have no combat experience what-so-ever. Some of you would because we fight for the Republic."
Some of the nodded and others didn't move their heads.
"General Odessa brought to my attention that a Renegade group of mercenaries have been disrupting our push further into Sal Kar. Destroying many Hounds and disrupting our troops on the boarders. We dont know how many in number or size or what kind of weapons they brought along with or what type of Hound they are using. Though I do know this, with the Republic behind us 1000%, we will destroy them either way. General Odessa only ask for 10 people to come with me, so I ask you now...join me then yell out, if not then stay quiet." I finished telling them the mission, it was silent for a whole two minutes.
I almost thought nobody would want to join me until a man whos name was Marco Farsa, a Sgt. who just returned from the frontlines. He yelled out that he would join me.
A second was Staff Sgt. Ean Jones, then a third - Pvt. John Iff
The fourth came to be Gunnery Sgt. Fiona Lonas, fifth was Tech Officer Williams McKlay.
Sixth was Pvt. Johanes Skeyi
Seventh was a Greenhorn by the name of Tanya Yavanisky
Eigth was Sgt. Yager Lok
Ninth was Helmut Bond
and the final one became Jesse, I was suprised...she has no combat experience, she was only a assisstant around here but she went through combat training two years ago.
I nodded and I told everyone to gather what gear and supplies they needed as I began to walk back to my quarters.

I was in my combat camos, with a side arm pistol, a smoke grenade, knife, and several ration packs at my side. I soon walked over to my Hound and checked its computer systems, its weapons, power supply, its ammo, making sure everything was in good order.
I climbed into my Hound and sat gently into its seat, it felt the same like last time, I placed both my hands on the controllers. I pressed down on a red button on the the right joystick and held it down while I turned the yellow switch on to power my Hound up.
All lights became alive as my Hound woke up from its slumber and slightly erected from it state.
I placed over my head the headset and lowered the communication microphone over my mouth. The earpiece was small and fits gentle inside your ear and the headset would never fall off from your head.
---
The other 10 hounds came out from the hanger as I came out behind the rest, they waited for me to go onto the trail.
"This is Ghost Leader - I am ready, everyone else?" I spoke into the mic.
"Freesky Go." - Marco Farsa
"Red Go." - Ean Jones
"Viking Go." - John Iff
"Warlord Go." - Williams McKlay
"Hunter Go." Fiona Lonas
"Jackal Go." Johanes Skeyi
"Demar Go." Tanya Yavenisky
"Cryo Go." Yager Lok
"Alcatraz Go." Helmut Bond
"Yellow Five Go." Jesse
"Alright people, standard formation. Lets move out now!" I ordered as our hounds became in a defense formation.
I was infront, two other hounds were at the side of me, four were in line formation from behind and the rest were in the area as scouters.
A video appeared in my cockpit, it was General Odessa.
"Sir, we are moving out now." I told him as I kept my eye on the passage ahead of me.
"Thats good, we are sending you coordinates now on their position. Bec-" A loud explosion erupted on the video and static followed as I began to hear screams then a silent death became on the video.
"Sir? General Odessa! Oh my God. We lost him." I turned off the video and switch to private communication.
"This is Ghost Leader, We lost General Odessa. We are on our own from here."
Lights flickered in agreement and then we began the mission. The Hunt for The Red Rose.

"Incoming!" a soldier yelled as he ran across the field, a volly of missiles exploding around the soldier's area. He screamed in pain as he flew into the air, both of his legs were ripped apart.
A devestating artillary Hound of Sal Kar kept firing the missiles towards the small incampment.
"This is the Kingdom of Sal Kar, Surrender and we will not kill you. Your Republic has forgotten about you, left you here to die. Join us and we will crush the Fascist Goverment!" a loud speaker was placed upon of the scout hounds that came to the area looking for any surivivors.
---
"Just wait." I said over the comm.
Lights blinked on the screen as I aimed my sniper cannon towards one of the scout hounds, they did not notice our entire squad over the hills but I could see them. I had my entire hand on the joystick, sweat was forming over my head. This was going to be my first kill.
It literally felt like time just slowed down, the scout hound seemed like it was walking very slowly. I noticed off in the distance a small flash blinked towards me, it hurted my eyes and I looked over. Then time itself stopped....
I almost threw up, the shockwave from the explosion of a rocket nearly made my hound almost tipped over. It was a very strong explosion that it knocked out my communication with my entire squad for a moment. Thank God it had miss me, I looked below and saw a very large creater just several meters away from me. I looked backed through the scope within my hound and aimed for the scout, the scout had notice the explosion and looked towards my direction. I fired a shot, I saw the tracer zoomed towards the scout, the scout tried to make a run for it but the large metallic projectile smacked into the cockpit of the scout and the hound exploded into a fire ball as it flew on its left smacking against the ground.
I quickly ordered my entire squad to displace, they did after I finished my word. Another impact and this time it was close enough that I notice my electronics almost failed.
I aimed for the other Sal Kar hound, and fired the next shot. My hound jolted from the recoil of the cannon. The tracer smacked against the right leg of the hound taking it off completely, it fell on its right side and black smoke began to pour out.
---
After the five minute battle, we scanned for any surviviors and yet there was none. Camp Beta 224 was destroyed. We moved on to Tajin

The techno music was on high, each beat vibrated the table. Smoke is around, the leader of The Red Rose relaxed in a booth with his squad. Several were dancing on the dance floor, his name was Ray Ze - a lethal personality as well as pyshical. He could read your past and present, anyone clearly knewe that if you crossed him you would die later that day.
He placed a cigar into his mouth, and lighted it. His other squadmates looked at him and they chattered on. A man in a dark camo clothing walked up to Ray and asked to speak with him in person. He nodded and got up from the booth and walked over to the man.
"There after you." the man told him.
"Who?" Ray asked.
"The Republic's finest is after you, someone named Ariazi has come for your head. I sugg-" he was interupted by Ray.
"Dont give me that crap Sgt. Nobody can kill us. Not even the Republic's finest. Look, you take your men and burn this village to the ground. We will move out into the mountains." he ordered him.
"Sir, civilians live here, if we burn their vill-" he was once interupted again.
"Do it Sgt. or do you want me to kill you?" Ray told him in a dark tone.
"Uh yes sir!" he nodded and ran out of the small club.
Ray placed on his blue toned sun glasses and motioned his entire squad to follow him.
---
"This is Section 12 of Tajin. I suggest that we take a break sir, we have been going on for a total of 27 hours." Suggest Jesse over the comm.
"Your right, I dont want this squad to be dull." I replied. I switched back to public chat.
"Alright team, 5 hour break." I ordered and their hounds stop.
The cockpit shield opened as I climbed out from the hound, I jumped off from the hound and landed on both of my feet. Everyone else did the same, it was a cold night, tree's everywhere and several bright flashing was on the horizon.
They had set up a small camp and started small camp fires. I took deep breath sat around a camp fire as I took out a map and began looking at it, trying to figure out where were we were exactly and where to go next.
"Sir, uh may I speak with you?" Fiona asked, I nodded to her.
"Well, what I wanted to ask was...um. I wanted to know if Im going to survive and go back home to my parents, after this mission Im going back home because the service is cutting off my contract due to my father's illness. So I was just saying, will you bring me and everyone back home?" she asked.
I looked into her eye's and did not want to tell her the straight facts. I looked around for a moment then back at the map.
"Everyone will go home, as long as everyone does their duty, their job, and yeah - we will make it back home Fiona." I told her as she smiled and told me a thank you then left.
Was everyone going back home? Im a greenhorn to military standards and I couldn't lead an entire platoon to battle. I wasn't sure if Fiona was going back, she too was young and still a fresh recruit. It was what we needed to do. It was our duty.
