I said in a different thread that I wouldn't buy it until the price dropped to $19.99 NEW. But is it worth $29.99 NEW? Was it worth $59.99 NEW?

I disagree. I think it's one of the best Sonic games in awhile. It just needs a better story.

Def. buy it if you have the money. Tons of unlockables.

Get it when its ten,
I was foolish enough to trade in a bunch of games for this game and buy it full price, buyers remorse.

It's great. Definitely worth the $50 I spent on it, so $30 is a steal.

Was this while you were playing gens or after? I personally couldn't play it after I got everything, the stages get so boring to look at you just just want to play the originals instead.

Hey guys, know how this thing costs 30 bucks for 18 levels? Unleashed's DLC costs 19 and has 42 levels. Dang. I was basing it not being worth it on my own dislike, didn't know it was an actual rip off.

More like a hundred levels...UNLIKE Unleashed's missions, the side missions in this game are actually individually unique.

Generations levels were all basically clones of each other just with different characters.
We had 2 racing stages in Green Hill Zone just with two different characters Tails and Knuckles. GOTY stuff. Unleashed Levels were challenging and didn't hand out S-ranks like candy.

IMO $30 is the make or break price. Really, anything over that +Tax is asking too much period.

Personally, I would be fine with paying $25 for generations. $30 is pushing it.

Thanks for all of your opinions they are very helpful. I think I'll wait until it drops to $19.99 NEW. I hardly replay games after I beat them and I don't do leaderboards.

You can get it used or recycled at Gamestop/EBGames for $20 basically (at least here in Canada.) I would check at your local retailers if you want it cheaper before buying it on PSN. I mean it saves you 10$ if you can find a copy that is in good condition. Not saying not to support SEGA however finding a price that is cheaper is probably more suitable to your tastes and more beneficial to your wallet. (Here is was actually 15$ when I saw it, but I am not sure about where you would buy it so..)

I bought Sonic Generations for 30 bucks... but... I still play it all the time! It's really fun in my opinion (other than the 3D sonic glitches and wobbliness) but it would be worth it if it was something like 20 bucks.

Oh god. I'm talking about level design variations. In Unleashed you play the same level 5 :):):):)ing times for hot dogs. THE SAME LEVEL, no changes whatsoever.

They were reasonably challenging.
Also, I'd rather hotdogs than Music notes, some of the notes have artwork. I mean since when does a music note say "Art work"
Good going Generations.

I bought it twice. Once on Xbox for 50, and then on the PC for 10. The PC version feels more like it was worth 50 because of mods and better framerate (and portability if you have a laptop).

But back to the original question. Yes, if you can get this game new for 30 dollars it's worth it.

Unleashed HD had about 6 levels for each zone.

I was going to buy it retail and here in the US it's only $27.99 used so not much of a difference. I hate downloading games I prefer a physical copy.

Honestly when I finished Generations, I really didn't feel like it was worth the price of 50 dollars despite having enjoyed it.

And why is it that people complain about going back through the same levels over and over again when it's put into a challenge and there's an actual reward for it as opposed to going back through the same levels over and over again because you beat the game and have nothing better to do? Seems kinda stupid.

Dude, I paid around $75 for it, and it's still worth as heck. Never had a single regret, this game is worth it. My only TRUE regret, is that SEGA didn't get all of my money. Most of it did, but the rest went to shipping, and the guy who got it for me.

Don't expect it to drop any further until next-gen consoles arrive.

Nah. Can't see it. No matter how good I thought the game was, I can't feel like I got my money's worth when I'm virtually done with it so quickly.

I never trade games in for anything. I did that once before and I don't regret it but still. I seems better to keep what you bought.

I usually don't trade games either. They usually involve bad deals anyway.

The only exceptions I've made were Etrian Oddissey (however it's spelled) for Super Mario 64 DS (I honestly did not understand the "charm" about Etrian Oddissey, it was boring as heck, and 20 minutes IN the game, and I still couldn't save... so.. c-ya EO)

And traded Excite Truck for Warioware Smooth Moves, basically. I did get a lot of kicks out of that one so I don't regret it.

Point is, you have to be REALLY sure when trading games. My cases were: Boring game for fun game, and a game about truck racing... for a wild party game, so I knew what I was getting into.

Still, Sonic Generations is awesome. What did you trade it in for?

I wouldn't pay anything for a copy of Sonic Generations.
As much as I hate Solo Sonica it's not because of that either ;-)
and it's not because of Duo Sonica either.

Actually unleashed had the most repetetive boring challenges. Like the chili dog stand. wtf. Over and over, constantly doing every freaking level. No fun in that especially when you have to do the werehog levels again and again. Generations worth the buy

There are only... less than 20 levels. the challenges are based in the same levels except that music one. The bosses are tooooooo easy, even on the "hard mode". But it is great at the gameplay! If you want to play it for gameplay, it's a MUST. If you like long games, don't get it, it's a short game.

What kind of stupid question is this? Of course it's worth it.

What I don't get is why Skyrim is still $60 after all this time.
