I kinda donīt like the new design of the prince, he looks like a Dothraki from the Game of Thrones series rather than a prince, though I shall not judge a game by Character design unlike some people (Iīm talking to you Devil May Cry fans)
The game looks Assassinīs creed style, letīs see how it turns out

Didn't Prince of Persia already get a reboot?

Why are so many series getting rebooted now?

I guess they thought that if they kept rebooting the same series over and over again it would sell better.

What, is one Assassin's Creed at a time not enough for these guys?
Shouldn't they be focusing on finishing the AC series first before these other games? I hear that the fans of the series have been wanting closure for a long time now. =P

Yep. 2003's Sands of Time was a reboot of the original Price of Persia game. So this is yet another reboot of a series that has already been rebooted.

It's pretty obvious that we'll never see another Cel Shaded Prince of Persia game, which is too bad, because that's the only one I was ever interested in playing.
This looks like Assassin's Creed.

It's like they abandoned an Assassin's Creed game and are trying to retool it.

There is a DS sequel for this game, and Sands of time and Cel Shaded Prince of Persia arenīt actually reboots, Ubisoft explained once if I remember that each series is from a different timeline, the Prince from the sands series is the sucessor of the original Prince of Persia and is also the predecessor of Elika.

You never played Sands of Time? =|
...I'm actually aiming this at anyone in their 20's who didn't play it.

So this is Prince's 4th reboot?

Nah I was never really interested in the PoP franchise. The only reason I played the cel shaded one was because I thought the art style looked amazing. Other than that, it was never a series I really had much interest in.

I've actually always been a fan of the Sands of Time Trilogy. I even went as far as to get the Forgotten Sands game(which was actually quite good). I always disliked that Assassins Creed became the new PoP, but then again, they're fun games as well.
I don't see why Ubisoft would want to return to the PoP series, Forgotten Sands sold like crap. It's just one of those series that never transitioned well into this gen, sort of like Splinter Cell.

So you turned down one of the greatest games of the last decade - a title that won "Game of the Year" awards, received endless amounts of praise across the entire industry (even by jaded reviewers like Yahtzee), and is widely considered one of the greatest action-adventure games ever made - yet you still made room for garbage over-milked franchises like Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero.
That's like passing up a delicious banquet at a five star restaurant for the equivalent cost amount in McDonald's double cheeseburgers.

Different strokes for different folks......? Don't get so upset about someone not liking something you do. *mod edit* You had to go out your way to type a whole paragraph that says "Stop liking what I don't like"
Anyway, I remember sands of time being a reboot for the game on NES.
Good game, need to play it again.

"Stop liking what I don't like"
No, the message of my post was the exact negation of what you have written here. I actually have to wonder if you did read my post, considering how quickly your reply came. It's like you had this message pre-written, stored and ready for me the next time I made a post to someone. =P
Anyway - ShadowLegend, you shouldn't ignore the game on initial aesthetic appeal alone, especially when you're someone who aspires to be a game journalist. Heck, you should know that PoP isn't the kind of game that initially appeals to me aesthetically either (needs more rainbows), but I still agree with everyone who's ever praised the game all the same. So give it a try already.

I didn't go out of my way to "ignore" the game, and I didn't say that I refused to play it because of its aesthetics.
I just never got around to playing it. It didn't interest me enough at the time to play it instead of whatever else I was playing. I don't have time to play EVERY GAME IN EXISTENCE, lol, and some slip through the cracks, what can I tell you?
For whatever reason I didn't play Sands of Time. I do remember renting The Two Thrones on the Xbox 1 at some point, playing a little bit of it, and not really liking it, so that made me even less interested in going back to Sands of Time.
I said that the only reason I played PoP 2008 was BECAUSE of its art style; it was distinctive enough for me to say, "hey, maybe I'll try out a Prince of Persia game."

Sadly, Guitar Hero is no More. The Last Game Bombed as far as I've heard (though the game does look decent), but didn't sell well I guess. I believe that when you state "garbage over-milked franchises" that would be Call of Duty. That game is overrated as hell. >:(

I'm sure you did, though, back ten years or so ago. That's also back when video rental stores still existed nationwide, so you could play through entire games without even having to buy them.
Well regardless, you can find the game for like three or four bucks these days (along with lots of other classic PS2/GC/Xbox games), so if you find it, you should give it a try. =P

I probably could have rented it but I feel like I just wasn't really all that aware of it. I did end up renting Two Thrones, like I said.
And eh. Maybe I'll try it down the road. What's so good about it?

Ofcourse I read your post. I'm a fast reader, read it twice infact after quoting you. I don't know you that well, so how am I supposed to know what you really meant? Why would I post a reply to you if I never even read your post?

I don't think the existence of a terrible PoP game on the DS is what anyone has in mind when we say we want a sequel to the Cel Shaded PoP game.
