if you check out ign they still have some dc news coming in and let's just say unlike in the us....it seems that Japan doesn't totally abandon it's systems.

No, it isn't. The last game to come out for it was a shump port. The last Sega official game was Puyo Pop Fever. Believe it or not, Dreamcast is dead everywhere. But that doesn't mean you can't still buy games and play on it.

I thought that the last official Sega game for the Dreamcast was Chaos Field, released nine months ago on 12/16/2004. Although it was developed by Milestone, not one of Sega's teams, it was still published by Sega. Therefore it's official, and it came a full ten months after Puyo Pop Fever.

no, Chaos Field was published by Able, not Sega.

It's a very technical thing. They're official because Sega presses the discs for the companies, and if need be, still sell DC dev kits , but they haven't been the publisher/developer since Puyo Puyo Fever.
