ive always wondered what people think is the best 2d fighter around.

In my opinion i think that the street fighter games are the best 2d fighters around. king of the fighters is good but the animation seems quite blocky (by the way ive only played one of the old ones).

The best in my opinion is Street Fighter 3: third strike. the King of fighter 2002 is the Second.

Mortal Kombat 2 would have to be my all time best fighter. Balanced gameplay, fast fighting, DCS sound, good graphics (for its time). Just all around nice.

But oh well. Thats me. :)

If it was bad, it wouldn't have been so successful, have 3 spinoffs and a bunch of sequels.

I'll also have to go with old school Mortal Kombat as the best 2D fighting game. Hell, MK is the best fighting game PERIOD.

Out of the 3 I would choose Street Fighter. My personal fave, though, is Golden Axe. I play Mortal Kombat a lot too. And Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.

The Marvel Vs games were good except Marvel Vs Capcom 2 which weas over done. The best game in the series would have to be Xmen Vs Streetfighter,just perfect.

Best fighter no doubt has to be HOKUTO NO KEN. Nothing beats this game and i mean NOTHING!!!

Mentions has to go to Samurai Showdown, GUILTY GEAR and RUMBLEFISH for enjoyablity factor.
