Thor, are you positive it's 17k? 16.2k is Major. I think 17.3k is Lt. Colonel, making Colonel around 18.5k ??? Those last two are guestimates.

I know for a fact that Major is 16,200.

There are two types of rank, squad and personal.

Legend is for the squad and is measured by renown. You need 120,000 to attain Legend.

And to attain Colonel personally, you need 18,000 merit.

You just start making up ranks for yourself after 20k merit for instance problem refers to 100k as General.
