You don't need one of those devices to get 5.50 on Aero Egg or Egg Totem. You do need it to get anything faster than that.

I meant I got the last hit at that time. The time goes for about another 7 or so seconds afterwards when he is blowing up. So yeah, it would be nearly impossible to catch the exact time by picture.

Um, I wasn't in Time Attack. I was doing a full run through of the game. And I saw the time with my eyes. I have very good eyesight and the ability to notice split second appearances, which is how I saw the .xx in the time.

True, but it always went for more than 3 seconds for me. I counted once to 5 on the Snow level.

Level 5 is Twinkle Snow, and Altar Emerald's post-destruction time pad is lower than any other boss. I've seen differences of 15 seconds between the two times on other bosses. But in AE, the difference is fixed at a relatively low 3.02.
