Picture this:You land on a dustball of a planet.Open the cargo bay and look out to see your worst nightmare.1 million alien drones swarming towards your position. Some as big as a bus,and realize all life on the planet has been taken. Some even fling.
Its just you and your crew of six marines,a couple of nukes and alot of guns.
What do you do?

I think we'll take off and nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Personally, I would prefer a far more discreet scenario akin to Aliens:

You land on a dustball of a planet. The wind kicks up so much dust that you can't see more than 50m in front of you until the wind dies down at night. Looking around, the landscape is dead as if nothing has lived here for a million years.
Your platoon of six soldiers fidgets nervously as the scout attempts to find a path through the windswept formations. The only sound are the footsteps of soldiers and the wind whistling away.
All of a sudden, the motion tracker on your belt sends of a ping...

How about, your not in the marines your a normal man on a mining
ship or something and you get a distress call from a ship that
is far out in space you get there and go in find guns and signs
of an epic battle..

Then your group gets attacked by the aliens hearing this slaughter
on the intercom your ships pilot (who you never liked anyway)
Detaches your ship and leaves to save him self.

Now you fight your way though the old abandoned ship
With your shipmates being picked off one at a time.
finding out that this ship is actually a ship for experimenting
on the aliens this far out in space so people don't know what
the 'government' are doing, but something went wrong.
Find some sick experiments and find out there trying too create
a breed that can be taimed and used in war.

You eventually get off the ship in the only excape pod left
with maybe one other crew member.. which then takes you
to a planet that isnt on any charts or maps
but seems to be an eirth-like world.. covered in jungles and deserts
and massive oceans.. perfect for life but no for some reason
no body knows about it.

Your excape pod lands at a small human collany that also seems too have
been wiped out but by something different.. Things are looking very bleak.

You see blips on your raidar.. and you get ready too fight too the death
but it turns out to be humans.. that look like they have been living
in the wilds of the planet.. instead of attacking you they join forces
too kill off a small group of aliens that followed them..
you go back to there base in the forests on jeeps with mounted
guns shooting aliens as you go..

They tell you that when this planet was discovered it was cept secret
the government wanted too make it a perfect world for only
there 'chosen ones' where people can start again.
But they were attacked by an alien race (predators)
it seemed like this was there planet and they didnt want humans
there.. in the battle the special breed 'proto type' trained aliens
were released on the planet in hopes they'd fight off the predator but they
werent trained at all and turned on the humans..

Now the survivers are left trying too find a way off the planet
wile avoiding aliens and predators.

Of corse I don't know the storyline.. of the alien Universe.
other then what I've seen on the movies so I probably controdicted
the storyline there.

That's an alright bit of storyline progression, though I don't think we should be expecting any Predator intervention in these Sega games. The spaceship with experiments was already done in Alien Resurrection however it is an appealing idea that could be elaborated upon further.

What could be done with the series?
Considering that they are looking to have some actor involvement from past characters, there could be a continuation of the Alien Resurrection storyline such as further character development of Ripley. Or perhaps another Weyland Yutani expedition.
Then there is the always-popular idea of a home planet for the xenomorph or the origin of the Pilot. Though I would prefer these to be explored in a movie rather than a game.

Yeah I was basicly riding that idea.
I read somewhere that SEGA also got the rights too predator as well
but I'm not sure if its actually true or not.

How about your a smuggler and part-time pirate running a small discrete operation at the edge of known space. You recieve a distress signal from a near by way-ward asteroid. Your crew and you are desperate for supplies and refuel, so if anything distress signals means oppotunity. You head in and land. The tall tell signs of an Alien over run are apparent in the landing bay. But environmental is still up and running, so you know the facility mainframe hasn't vented as human life is still detectable. This isn't your first rodeo with Alien over runs, but lack of fuel and resources presses you in. After all aliens don't need fuel and in an overrun, everything is ripe for the taking.

{dishing of lead pain action}

You find yourself in the laborartory to find a dying android slumped against a cryo tube and wielding a pulse rifle. The andriod offers you a deal. The security code to unlock the fuel resource and munitions, if you agree to take the cryo tube to mining colony J52 outside of corporate control. Once at J52 you will be compensated. Inside the tube a little boy. The same age as the main character's little boy before he died on a massive planet overrun.

As you leave the facility you notice a dark purple tatoo on the rear head of a fallen Alien. Hard to make out, but something was there. Apon exit your crew ignited the thermo-balasts and turn that little rock into a temporary mini-sun. A secondary scan shows an unknown lower orbit ship that was behind the asteroid.

Who is this child and is he worth the cost of you and your crew?

...continue....

Samuel was leaning over the crew table "I say we blow that abomination out the air lock. Serves it right, that thing. We got what we wanted and lets cut loose that albatross before we regret it."

"I said no", the captain looking out into black space with his back turned.

"Did it slip your mind the id tag on that cyro crapper you brought on board? Or do I need to remind you who Seth Ripley is?" Samuel's angry swelled as his fist hit the table.

"That boy might be our only damed chance in this war. While we skirt making a :):):):) living we are being sqeezed out."

"IT'S NOT OUR WAR!"

"You think that red :):):):):) gives a damn? Where Cooper and his crew? The Lexus, the Midnight. where are they in this war. Gone!"

Back story:

Everyone thought Aliens were nothing more than savage parasites. Mindlessly capturing hosts to increase thier hive. We never left them alone long enough to find out their full potential. A small outter colony had been completely over run, a planet over run. The Navy saw no need to waste nukes on a planet they felt they could over see from orbit and study the creatures. The compnany had over sight in research. Company researchers dared to go to the surface usually made it back. Usually.

No one knows for sure what happened, but the Aliens caught on. They got smart. Their unknown intellegence was hidden until it was to late. Rumor had it they were able to board a returning pod and took control of the research vessel Red Queen. What ever it was it was their first cohessive attack and they drew in unsuspecting vessels taking them over and spreading.

Once the outter :):):) colonies caught on it was to late for many mining and smaller moon colonies. The war had begun.

Ellen Ripley was in prisoned on P45, the Devil's Spire. Rumors of her having a child were never confirmed. But rumors had it Ripley could sense and communicate with the Aliens. She knew there ultra-low frequency sound the emmited and the subtle smells given off. The military tried hard to break the Alien language, but could not. Knowing your enemy's language could mean life or death.

On colonial day for TK342 the planet was half way over run. That was the darkest day. The Navy nuked the entire planet to prevent new Alien soldiers being born. An estimated 1.7 billion innosent lifes were snuffed out to starve the enemy of new recruits. Many of the fleeing shuttles were shot down in upper orbit in fear the carried an infected host. The haunts many soldiers had of famlies pleding they were clean haunt many.

Obsidian have categorically stated that their game (the Alien RPG) will NOT have the Yautja (Predators). Yes, JE Sawyer actually referred to them by name.

I think the original Alien movie had great potential. Many aspects of the movie was removed. Mainly the :):):):) scene and the scene where the alien uses Ripley's head to board a space station from the escape shuttle. Both of these scenes show higher intelligence and desire. But the main thing was the alien knew the self-destruct was activated and Ripley was leaving the ship. We see many times in the movies the alien looking at something and knowing what is to happen.

Also the movies have heavy illuded to a higher intelligence level than giving credit. The second movie showed the Aliens to rethink tactics to invade the compound. Also the queen's ability to take along some eggs for the third movie to progress. Meaning the queen had an idea of death. The third movie showed the alien traits taken on by the host. In this case a dog-like alien. Recall it was eating it's victims, not getting them ready for "harvest". The fourth movie showed collective intelligence to escape their prison and quickly gain control. In the AVP movie it showed that a queen can live a very long time and knew that her blood could free her. The ending was super cool with a Predator Alien hybrid. Hence the link with the third alien movie.

So the signs of a much higher intelligence is there depending on the host. Hence they are the perfect parasite to invade with.

Now I based this on the movies and not the comics. Because comics can get a bit wackey and crazy.

I'd like to see in a RPG where the soldiers wear anti-hugger masks. Or atleast the ability to contruct and upgrade to it. When attached a blast of liquid CO2 is shot out dislodging the hugger from the face.

----TO PROGRESS FROM THE STORY LINE ABOVE----

Your small crew in thrown into a storyline where they must decide the path for Seth Ripley. Through the story Seth is released from his cryo container and then under goes a tremendous rapid growth to a young male in mid-20's. The company is after him for the usual reasons and the Navy wants him to break the alien language code. Also because they see him as a threat. During all of this Seth escapes as he searches for Ellen Ripley his mother. You track him down to the Devil's Spire prison where you have to dish out the lead. Most of the prisoners are alien and no sign of Ellen Ripley. Escape or dead unknown. Yet you find Seth Ripley standing in a room with three aliens bowing at his feet. Through storyline discovery you find out these are queen-less drones that see Seth as the queen. Further discovery is that they are not from the invading red hive, but made by the joint cooperation of the company and Navy. They seek a queen..... Then you question why and how are all the forces are following you and your crew. Do you lead Seth to become the new queen or does Seth harness a new force in favor for an alien army for humanity. Or thirdly does Seth help destroy all aliens and use him to avenge the innocent lives that the company and Navy snuff away?

The overall story involves tracking down old mercs from the fourth movie, scientists, finding new hope in loves lost, trading, selling information and goods. Saving mining facilaties and liberating prison camps.

In a war the worst place to be is in between all forces.

In a war the worst place to be is in between all forces.
That's spot on, and a critical aspect to a good RPG: the complex interaction between the player's PC and the various factions: mercs, company agents and scientists, aliens ... perhaps there might even be more than one alien nest, just like arthropods in nature, red and black ants will attack each other immediately; same with termites and ants.

Lets not forget the android revolt either.

Android pirates vs Alien ninjas! Ok, corny, but I hope androids still play a role.

After visiting your HQ you were given orders to visit a near by fuel station that has recently lost communication on all levels. You remeber thier last communaction, "Hel... if... kne... wa.... out... mess... th... kil... ther... to... som... kind... alie." It was very staticly and scrambled. The announced on the speaker that you will be boarding soon.

As you board the station you notice no sounds but footsteps and the occasional ping of the motion detector. Soon you reach the docking station and somebody say's, "This is a waste... why are we here?" which nobody answer's. You look around and nobody's there, the only thing thier are box's, exo-suits, and a cup of coffee which has some thick clear glop slidding off the edge. Soon you reach the Dinning Quarters which has food littering the floor, and oscene amounts of blood being dragged down the stairs to the Living Quarters.

As you reach the Living Quarters you notice body's litter the area, some even with holes in thier chest. As you reach the room with the sign, "KNOCK BEFORE ENTERING!" As you enter you see walls of black organic material with people in them, along with some kind of... open pods on the floor!!! you try to free them but they tell you not to, they tell you to kill them by shooting them in the chest.

After you leave the room, you still smell the smoke from your pistol. After you reach the control room you see the shocking unscrambled video...

I'm honestly not sure what kind of storyline I'd want to see from this game....all I know is it better make me stop feeling like I'm playing an Aliens game whenever I play a Metroid game...If it feels like a random generic space-shooter, I'm going to be very upset aswell.

"Picture this:You land on a dustball of a planet.Open the cargo bay and look out to see your worst nightmare...."

Follow my orders install a beachhead and jump for the radio to call reinforcents and back-up for the reinforcements in a LOUD COMMANDING VOICE ^^ :x

For PC

Consider a Campain. (If the Preds are not involved).
The Humans are struggeling to keep the Brut away from their colonies and planets, trying to put an end to the alien thread...
Fighting the "Carter Burke`s" who trying bring their ships into the harbor.

Lets say 3 or 4 Chapters:

The First on Earth (or Earth Station)

Quarantäine and S & D mission to eliminate the alien outbreak.

Second Chapter on a Colonie

Rescue humans, keep aliens from your throat, finding references from where those bugger came *again  *

Third Chapter another Colonie / Base / Planet / Ship(wreck) / Spacestation surprise me.

This is an area where every live has been eliminated by the aliens, this is where the thypoid mary came from and spread the plague over the colonies and almost over Earth.
Find out where he or she or they got pregnant....

Chapter V: Alien Homeworld / LV-426 or space-jockey-ship

Ok Marines, this is definitv nothing for sissies.
We want to wipe out this damn buggers.
Sadly was our Planet-crushing-almost-deathsstar viction of alien infection, local infanterie was not able to eliminate the tread managed it to steer the ship into a near sun.
So lucky we, we won the distance lottery, and our orders are:
Cleansweep marked areas, installing a savety-zones and protect the installation of the blackholebombsystem (antimatterbomb whatever Big Mean Bam) and hopfully manage to retreat before bombing time...

For the Aliens... hmpf... no plan

I would appriciate such a game... :D
