Who Are the Real Fanboys?

This really isnt the place for this, but I feel it needs to be said.

I find it ironic that many people out there claim that the PS3 is completely supported by a group of "fanboys" that disregard any flaws in their system and refuse to accept any one else's opinion.

My friend owns a Wii and an XBOX 360. They are excellent systems and are a blast to play. I own a PS3, and I really enjoy using it. Its true, the game line up right now is lacking, but there are many titles coming out in the future which I look forward to playing.

The fact of the matter is that the systems all have their faults and strengths. The wii is a blast for having some fun with friends, but it sucks big floppy donkey balls when you come home from work and just want to relax to a nice, sit down and click, fps. The PS3 is nice for media and games which are aimed at a more mature audience.

That being said, it seems to me that the only fanboys present here are the ones criticising the PS3 for:

1. Copying the work of others
2. Being a piece of garbage
3. And being kept afloat by fanboys

Seriously, I never see PS3 fanboys going to XBOX 360 forums and making brash statements that bring the sexual preference of XBOX players' mothers into question. Im just curious to know where all this hostility comes from.

The PS3 is expensive. No one is debating this, and the question of whether or not the PS3 is worth the money is one that only the individual consumer can answer for themselves. But that price comes with some serious advantages that cant be overlooked (wifi, awesome graphics, bluetooth, a huge HDD, the list goes on). That being said, only an ignorant and spiteful man would turn down a free PS3.

I own both so saying anything bad about either would be a direct strike against myself. Which would be ignorant at best.

I'm not 100% happy with the PS3 right now. But when the PS2 came out, I wasn't 100% happy with it either for similar reasons. Lack of games. But what did I expect? It's still an infant system. Xbox has had some time to cover ground.

Regardless, I'm pleased with both purchases. If not for it's situational standpoint today, then purhaps what it will eventually be.

Both systems have a decent lifespan ahead of them. It's my habbit to keep up with it.

The main reason I don't have a PS3 is simply price... I just can't afford it at $600+, not including the cost of games. Also, I think Sony has just done a mediocre job of getting exclusive licenses. For someone like me who had a PS2 and LOOOOOOOVED it, it's both a blessing and a curse to see so many of the old exclusives go multi-platform. The biggest one, in my opinion, is (of course) AC4. Armored core has been a pure PlayStation game since it's release on the original PlayStation. It was then brought to both the PS2 and PSP. Since I'm just flat out unable to buy a PS3, I was ecstatic when I heard that AC4 was coming for the 360. (and yes I do love my 360 as well ^^). However, if anyone here doubts the sheer graphical/processing capabilites of the PS3, go look at the screenshots for Final Fantasy XIII and tell me that it's not beyond stellar. I just think it's all about the marketing and what kind of games you can get. W/o a good lineup of games you could have the world's best system for 50 bucks and still not make any money b/c no one is buying your system. But that's just my two cents.

Yeah I actually started cheering when I heard it was coming to the 360. That ps3 look nice but that $600 price is just ridiculous. The only reason I would buy one of those things would be Devil May Cry 4 but alas, I must live without :(

I say that we aren't the fanboys. u r so right. i think that alot of them hate because thay can't aford a ps3 because thay spint all there money on xbox360. i've come 2 know that most peaple hate because of envy

PS3 is not worth it in my opinion. Its regular debate price before release date was 1000 dollars, but sony found a way to make it cheaper ( 600 dollars ). PS3 worked with blueray, because of its top-notch technology. PS3 has a 1000 dollar blue ray HDTV DvD player, and has two super expensive graphic cards. I mean it cool due to the techs on it, but I really don't see it worth it just to play games, and watch a DvD on HD graphics. Most people don't have a HDTV yet, and second compare to a PS3 v.s Laptop, when nearly at the same price. PC and laptop can play games, etc. I would of bought the PS3, if the price was that of the 360, but I can wait. Wii doesn't have the the specs of 360 or PS3, but its something new at an awesome price of 250 dollars. Go to gamespot.com to compare the systems.

Besides that it costs an arm and a leg for something that's the same as the 360 (Lol at no vibration function, and retarded gyroscope though), my biggest problem is the fact that it's Sony. They're great for putting good RPGs on their system, and Sony's RPGs have the 360's RPGs beat by a long shot, but Sony has never had a decent FPS. Killzone? You gotta be kidding me. And moreover, their online will suffer because the best games that they make are single player games. That's the issue. If I can't have a good online experience, then I'm not playing. The PS3 is twice as much as the 360 and won't have good online games, which makes it a NO BUY. On a side note, I thought MGS4 was coming to 360 at some point, but I read recently that it's not, and that makes me a Sad Panda.

Ja, but it was quality stuff.

Can barely stand the multiplayer for long, but the story/cooperative is a blast.

Best part is, most of Bungie thinks they left a LOT out of Halo 2 multiplayer and they think it came out half assed because they were rushed.

They said that won't AT ALL be the case for Halo 3 > : D

I admit, it's an FPS - but the AI and Story and just, how they brought thier world together.

Makes it a winner.
