God I love AC4, but I can't take much more of this. Ever since I started playing and unlocking parts, the inventory system (for weapons at least, I have yet to discover anything missing in the core parts or the boosters) has been absolutely fubar for me. First of all, to even see all the parts that *do* show up, I have to move through the list both ways; left to see one of the upgraded versions of a type of weapon, and right to see its less advanced cousin. So out of all the weapon types in the game (rifle, machine gun, sniper rifle, laser rifle, plasma rifle, hi laser rifle, radar, etc) I will at MOST see two of each.
All of the other weapons just disappear. I first realized this had happened when I unlocked the storable laser sword. I had had two before, the basic Dragonslayer, and a cousin of it with a longer blade (not the Moonlight). When I unlocked the storable sword, it and the Dragonslayer showed, but the other was nowhere to be found. I saw it yet again when I unlocked the MR-R102 by completing Sol Dios on Hard difficulty. It never showed up, I only saw the most basic rifle, the RF-4100, and the AZAN.
Then a couple days ago, I tried loading an enemy next schematic, the Helix I, she had a rifle I had never seen in my inventory list, but had wanted to try. So I create an original schematic from hers, and lo and behold, 5-15 pieces of equipment - including but not limited to: rifles, radars, machine guns, laser rifles, laser swords, etc, etc - magically appeared in my list. They even finally sorted correctly so I could progress one way through the list and see everything, instead of having to go left and right to see different versions. I was amazed, angry, and happy all at the same time; amazed and angry that the inventory system could have gotten so HORRIBLY SCREWED UP, and amazed and happy that I finally could see what I had been missing.
So I immediately load one of my personal schematics, and look around. First I went to weapons, and WOOT, they are still there (didnt change any weapons though), so I go in other areas to see if anything popped up there. When that turned up nothing, I went back and what do you know, the weapons were all gone again. Thinking this is gonna suck if I have to do this everytime, I reload Helix, then my schematic, and immediately change weapons to something I hadn't had.
Now they all appear to show up everytime. So I go to other schematics, but the items dont show up there, I have to reload the previous schematic and then come back to make them available. As it turns out even when I change weapons, only that first personal schematic I made had the golden ticket other than the Helix.
Well, today, I decided to organize my schematics. I had been making a lot of random mechs trying to beat some very difficult missions on Hard, and it was cluttering things up, plus my usual mechs were getting altered slightly when I forgot to save them as new mechs. So I go off of that original golden ticket schematic, and make copies and sort them into the different Stocks, divided so that there were 4 arch types for my schematics, light ground/light air, and heavy ground/heavy air. Then I delete the golden ticket schematic, its outdated for me and altered from its original slightly. I figured if the weapons don't show up on my new soon to be built schematics, I could go back to the Helix to make them show up.
Well first I make my dual moonlight mech, and I want a good radar, but I see only two are showing again. So I load up that Helix and go back and....nothing. There was no change, I could not see the weapons. I went back to the Helix, and IT didnt show the weapons other than the rifles it had already equipped! I tried loading other enemy schematics, to no avail. Once again, I am stuck with a hard to navigate and utterly crippled inventory, and this time it is so much worse because I know what isn't there now. I had found a work around, a bad one, but it was doable, and now even that is gone.
The funny thing is, I haven't found one single other person who has this issue. Whats worse is, there is absolutely ZERO TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOR THIS GAME. I searched the support section for sega several times, and there is nary a forum or an email address that I could find that would relate to XBOX 360 game issues (which is why I am here). I'd love to check FROM's website, and I have tried, but unfortunately, I don't speak or read Japanese.
So after this rather long post (congrats for reading it all), my question is three fold:
1) Has ANYONE else had this problem, or know of someone who did.
2) If yes to 1, were you able to fix it somehow? And if yes to that, how did you fix it?
3) if no to 1, do you have the updated regulations file? If yes, how did you download it? Were you given a prompt, did you download it manually through a game menu? If so, what menu?
I am still using the default. The reason for that is I have never been prompted to download the new one, nor can I find where to do it manually.
3a) If you have the new regulations file, are you an XBOX Live Gold member (meaning you can play multiplayer, not just access the marketplace and such)?
I'm not; I'll be less than thrilled if I have to subscribe *just* to get updates, but as I wanted to play multiplayer eventually anyways, I can overlook that.
Ok, that is all. Thanks in advance for your help. And I pray to whatever god (or lack thereof) you worship, that none of you EVER have to experience this infuriating problem.
