Ok I suck at this game and love it, so mock if you want lol idc. I cant beat Ego Boost on chapter 4 (The one where you protect the stealth jet until it takes off)

The last mission like this (protecting the ice breaker) i just used a flyer with a gattling gun and a zooka. This mission however I cant seem to figure out a setup to work.

I've tried so far:

Speedy AC w/ blades
Sniping AC w/ 2 beam rifles on arms & 1 sniper on back & 1 heavy laser on back
Missile AC w/ every possible lock on missile i can pack on it
Grenader AC with 2 grenade launchers on arms and 2 heavy grenade launchers on back
Machine gun AC
Tank AC with 4 lasers on it & rockets in the hangers

I dont get this mission lol. Any help would be cool.

And like I said, mock if you want lol

have you tried a quick guy with dual laser rifles? most of the time the best strategy is to meet your opponents away from the tarmac as they approach and shoot down the helicopter-core-carrying craft before they launch the normals they carry

I used 2 Gat guns and shot down the helicopters when they were still over water so they dropped their normals into the ocean. Then if by some chance you miss a wave of heli's and they drop their normals... equip some grenade cannons and a couple shots would take out 3+ if they are bunched together. Happy Hunting :).

The trick to this mission is realizing that the Normals aboard the transport helos don't become "active" until they're actually dropped. The transports are actually pretty weak, so give yourself some lightweight sniper rifles on a fast core and hit the three drop points (counterclockwise to your initial facing) as fast as possible and you can kill all the targets without encountering a single Normal.

For what it's worth, this gave me trouble too :)

HAHAHAHAHA OMG I used a speedy AC w/ 2 Laser Rifles with fast firing rate and smoked the chopers. DAMN I kicked myself in the :):):) for not being able to figure it out. I managed to blow out all 3 sets before any were able to drop.

With that said.... Now I need help with "San Dios" I think it was called. Its the mission where you team up with "White Glint" and have to take down the giant walking deathstars lol. I tried a speedy AC with laser rifles and a heavier AC with 2 Sirius back mounts and 2 heavy zookas for arm mounts

Forget the arms and equip two heavy King Grenade Cannons. shoot the dios with both 2 or three times and its down. Take out the center Dios first. ;) also might help to get a main booster for sustained flight. If your quick enough you can actually take out your larger group faster then white glint takes out his smaller group. HA!

Hint: these guys have a major weak point, if you can find it. We're talking 2-shot kill here, with almost any weapon.

The mech I used to get me through nearly all the single player missions, with very little (most often none) modification between missions, was a mid-weight with the lighter grenade rifle on right arm, either laser rifle or MG on left, hi-act missiles on left back and either the PA booster or relation missiles on the shoulders.

I forget how many of those "walking death stars" were in that mission, but I remember at least six, maybe eight, and I think my white glint only took out one or two in the time it took me to blow away the rest, and this was without using the previously mentioned "weak spot" above.

I think really the only mission where this design gave me problems was in the one where you destroy that huge tower that's about to blow one of your satellites out of the sky. I kept running out of ammo, but after a couple tries, and equipping the portable plasma cannon in my hangar to use when my 'zook ran out, I finally got it just before it fired. That eye-melting explosion made it worth the trouble, lol.

Use one back luancher quiuck legs and solid right arm high ammo and heavy hitting. This is where you guard a plane right?

Dude I killed them all so fast that the screen went black from the mission ending before white glint had killed one
