Is it better to use incendiary rounds or HE?

Do mortars with HE cause splash damage?

Do grenades cause splash damage.

Normally when I run a scout it's just equipped with piles for base killing so I don't have much experience with these.

Grenades to splash, yes.

Equipping 4 motars, I've seen 1 of the group using incendiaries to a degree of effectiveness.

Use the majority as HE60 rounds, however.

Are you sure on the grenades and splash?

I ran a hound with some thinking I could use the splash as a useful distraction to knock an enemies aim off, but then heard they didn't so I tested it by shooting the ground next to me - no splash.

I was using the Sal Kar triple shots.

The grenades have a minimal splash radius. The mortars have a bigger radius and you will notice the difference. Best idea is to run 4 MGs and Mortars (as many as you can fit but keep them towards the top of the hound).

Grenades do have splash, however it is minimal - even in comparison to Motars.

I disagree....the 90 rounds are much more effective for mortars. Most of the reason for this is the larger splash radius. This larger radius makes up for aiming mistakes and also creates a useful smoke screen.

The 60 ammunition did not destroy the weapons as quickly as the 90's did in testing in war matches.

For Howies and DD's, the 60 ammos is much more effective. The challenge now becomes hitting hounds with the decreased splash radius. Once you hit them, the greater destructive power of the 60 ammunition will splash weapons quicker. The only exception are direct hits where the 90 ammo outshines the 60 ammo.

I stand corrected then lol I'm a traditional howie man, so applied that information to the motars. I apologize if I mislead.

No apologies needed, I was quite surprised myself after all of the discussion about the DD/Howie ammo. I used it in a war match and barely sc:):):):):) by, reloaded the 90 ammo and everything was back to normal.

Why are the 60 rounds better than the 90? Aren't 90 stronger? o_o

Its a blance between splash radius and damage, as someone above posted o.0
