Wii Fit/ Wii Board question

Im not sure if any of you have noticed this but did any one else relize that any time that wii fit is shown in videos or screen shots its always being used on a hard surface, its never used on carpet or a rug. :?

So im wondering if the Wii Board can be used on a carpet surface without damaging the board or affecting Game play :?:

I don't know why it wouldn't work on a rug, not like theres censors on the bottom of it....

I suppose there's always the potential it might cause a problem with how you are able to balance on it, depending on the kind of carpet, but..

I've yet to hear any complaints regarding usage on a rug.
