I have at least been threw a dozen cannon and grenade soldiers, but all have
a weak spot thats pretty easy to get threw. Its either to weak of a :):):):) pit for another cannon to blow me away in one hit, or a little opening so a sniper can hit my cockpit. Im open to suggestion's

The only thing I can think of is 'keep moving'. For a soldier and most hounds for that matter, moving is life. I can't get into details, but if you're moving you're making it harder for your opponent to hit you. Also, use the terrain - nothing CH has can shoot through earth.

unless its one hell of a splash damage weapon but yeah keep moving and if you know that the weak spot is on a certain place just don't let the enemy see it

Are you still running the cannon/grenadier hybrid?

My only suggestion would be to run a pure build and use extra armor and a bigger pit in place of the nades I saw you using the other day. The protection you had was decent, but it only took a few shots aimed at the top of your hound to blow it.

Most players will aim for your legs, some of the better cannon pilots will aim for your weapons and get pit shots in there by luck. Hope this helps....

A good example of a armored build is that armadillo you have seen me run.

I might have just been using an experiment hound, but yeah it does work
at some times. But nobody in my squad is really good at cannons so i gotta be a hybrid until i can get a partner i can roll with n the battlefield.

Shyte...that is a downer....time to do some individual missions to bring your guys up to your speed. Teach them the basics and all of that good stuff....I was lucky enough to have x626x Edw4rd and a couple of others to teach me how to be a good cannon pilot.

I still have a ways to go, but I can hold my own most of the time.

Up the legs on an armadillo to Burns and remove one cannon and the armor on the side w/o cannons. Throw on a couple (maybe even 3 will fit...?) grenades. After that, just try keeping the enemy in front of you  Use your cannons for med range and switch to grenades to weapon strip other cannon mechs.

All theory, but after giving it some thought (and seeing a different variant used by the 7th) it's definately on my "to do" list before getting into any matches tonight.

now this is just throwing it out there, but what about anti hound rockets and cannons, it would be a really easy way to destroy another cannon solidier, the only thing i ave found wrong with it after a few games of using it is u forget to switch back to your cannons and u would know what i mean if you have ever been in a really good cannon fight

Heh... ya, once you start going through your "dodge, dip, duck, dive and dodge" while routine using HEATs or ARs it's hard to break it... Knowing me, though, I'd switch to cannons and then wait for that "golden shot" thus wasting a helluva lot of time I could be firing HEATs, but alas, I'm a QC pilot at heart anyways. On another note, I personally prefer swarm rockets vs cannon hounds since they have a little more "impact" and do some significant splash on a direct hit, but HEATs are definately effective when used correctly.

Why use heat-seeking when you can use GPS? There are currently artillery rounds using GPS that are still being made for mass-production, currently cost a bit too much though they are still well worth it...

Anyways, the average error for these things (they even fired one 30 degrees off-target) is about 5m... that would hurt :P

If that is true, then this is a glitch in the game. Maybe some testing should be done to confirm this. From my experience, being behind a birm has protected me from splash. However, if I'm still a little too high on the birm and a howie shell hits right at the top, I'll get splashed. I'm going to ask a squadmate to help me test this tonight.

there's mention of this sniper being used by the 501st. It is talked about on the xbox.com forums but no one I know has mentioned its design. It is being kept secret although some details have been leaked....

If it is in fact the sniper that x626x Beserker uses, then I know what it is....
