Simple, Forgettable, Easy...Boring.
There is a saying that goes 'Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me'
With that said: I broke my cardinal rule and, because I enjoyed DS1 and 2 so much, as soon as I saw this come out I figured 'Cool, this is gonna be like DS but in space'. Since then, all I ever see when someone mentions this game is visions of Taylor laughing while counting my (your, our) money.
There is 0 depth, 0 interaction, 0 details and after about 1hr: 0 fun.
Im not sure what genre to put this game into.
As there is no loot to collect, its NOT an RPG.
As the controls are terrible, its not an FPS (99% of the game is shooting, but my WASD keys are for ...the camera. Idiotic.
The 'evade' key, unless you want to take your cursor off your enemy, is pretty much going to have you jumping DIRECTLY into the line of fire).
So the only other genre I can imagine them trying for here is some kind of action/adventure - if you find shooting barrels and drums adventurous.
I can go on and on about the robot, about all the people you meet but none of them join up, the 'Cyborg Vs Humanity' could've been a dilemma but the game was just too easy.
Hey Chris and GPG, this is 2008. Your work is supposed to get better with each product, not worse. I cant imagine anyone over 13 (dont flame, kiddies, sorry) having the attention span to play this, but since your game can be finished in 1 sitting, I suppose a couple of Red Bulls would fix it.
With all that said, this game is definitely not worth $50 (not even $30), every level looks the same except for the crate/barrel arrangement, the skill trees are really lame, and dont bother upgrading your guns as you'll get another one soon enough (OK - I will say that the animations when you get a new weapon- THAT was cool).
Needless to say, I wont blindly buy another GPG product without getting at least 5 diff reviews and even then - Once bitten, Twice Shy
Yep, you guys dropped the ball big time on this one.

GPG/Sega made the big mistake to advertise Space Siege as an Action-RPG tho it doesn't belong into this category. There is a Genre where Space Siege belongs and it is called Top/Down-Shooter. The shooter like gameplay (only viewed from above and not first-person) with RPG-lite system in Space Siege is specific for this genre.

To name another game that fits into this genre -> Shadowgrounds Survivor.

So the big mistake was to rate Space Siege as an action-rpg instead of top/down-shooter and so all gaming-world compares it to action-rpgs, where it must fail.

No. They made the mistake to release this game. And if you need to give it a genre then I suggest you place it under Trash.
