Can't Kill Boss (spoilers!)

I am having trouble killing Jake near the end of the game (at least I think it's near the end of the game). Any advice? Any tricks or strategies? I get him down to about 50% health but he kills me off. Everything is upgraded including my gun. I chose 100% humanity.

To play a character with 100% humanity is much more difficult than to play as cyborg. So the only advice i can give you, try it first as cyborg combat/engineer and when you are familiar and experienced with the game try as 90%+ human.

Jake is a joke, a sick joke, but still a joke. All his attacks are ridiculously easy to avoid and see coming, however roughly 50% of them will practically seal your death if you do get hit. He is a sick joke when you first find him, however once you can recognize his attacks, you should be able to kill him without getting hit.

In the first stage of the battle, just dodge his shots and deal out the pain. Try and be closer to him so he targets you instead of HR-V, just roll out of the way of his shots and move closer to him when he tosses the mines, no big problems. Stay out of melee because its an instant death sentence, try and stay back so you have plenty of time to dodge the shots, but not so far back that you have a chance to roll into the mines. He will launch 3 layers of mines pushing you closer and closer but otherwise his attacks don't change. You will have to manually move HR-V to keep him out of the mines, get him to hold ground at the furthest mineless place away from Jake and get him to hold ground.

The second stage you can kiss HR-V goodbye no matter what you do. He fires in bursts of 3 but takes longer to reload them, just roll out of the way like the single shots. He also tosses some serious grenades so avoid them. Just right click lock him and dodge, dodge dodge.

After that we move onto the 3rd stage, where he will start putting up a shield. He will deploy 4 shield generators beside him and because invulnerable, he will also launch a volley of missiles that will practically instantly kill you if they hit, and they have good splash. Shoot the generators out and he goes back to second stage tactics. Shoot the generators at quickly because by god those missiles are evil... Grenades are good for hitting the far generator.



The best advice I can give you for 100% Humanity is Don't get hit, and the E key is your friend. You don't have the Cybernetic chest, or the Spine to seriously boost your health and resistances so you will go down so much easier. However since you are at Jake, I'll assume you got the basics of dodging down pat.

I do agree he's tough the first time.

But for all his cybernetics, he's almost a stationary weapons platform. Just move to the side, i.e. small clicks just to move aside and try to keep harvey from taking too much attention. As full human, you either went with full combat (props to you, I decided to go full engineer first, except only taking sentries 2/4).

The second time I fought him, I just kept my health high, dropped deployables when I could and both spammed him with grenades, drones and turrets whenever I could. Even combat based you should have more then enough to deal with him like that.)

So yes, he's dangerous, but just stay vigilant, and keep him distracted.
