i am so school girl excited for this!! it looks like my type of game.its got a very japanese look to it, and from what i know so far, i like the story.im not too familar with srpg games, but this ones is grabbing me.plus vyse and aika are playable characters, so im sold!! i really hope it does well, because i would like to see more game like this from them.all those who appreciate games like this get the word out, not just in the sega community, but everywhere to gamers! anyway feel free to share your excitement here, and maybe you can shed some more light on the game that we may not already know.

I too am excited about Valkyria Chronicles, but are we talking about the same game? The characters you name, unless you misspelled the names, do not exist in the game. You might want to check the wikipedia entry.

Vyse and Aika are characters from the Sega RPG Skies of Arcadia. They are recruitable soldiers in this game, though they aren't important to the story. A lot of fans, myself included, are pretty excited that Sega remembered them enough to give them a cameo in this game.

And to the OP: Fina isn't playable, but she is the medic who revives your fallen soldiers.

From what I understand, Aika is a scout and Vyse is an attacker. Apparently when they are near each other, they gain the ability to perform an extra attack on the other character's round, meaning they can get two actions in instead of one (I gather this is their expression of some kind of troop-affinity system). And I guess they call out each others name when they die?

This is all second-hand info, obviously...but yeah, I'm pretty excited about this game and about this little bit of SoA on the PS3.

yeah i do like the game i like the art direction and all.

but problem is i don't own a PS3 at the moment so yeah i know it seems stupid that i don't own it but its because it costs so much i cannot afford it.

great game by the way if i had a PS3 at the moment it will be a purchase for me.

I must confess that I really want a part time job now. Not only so I can pay for bills and school, but also so I can save up to purchase an Flat Screen HDTV, just so I can play Valkyria Chronicles in all its HD glory.

Widescreen LCD monitor capable of displaying multiple HD resolutions might be a cheaper alternative. I play my PS3 on a Dell 2407WFP with composite sound output to Logitech (fake, non-surround) 5.1 speakers. Got the monitor for around the price of a PS3 and the speakers for $50. It's the poor man's way of getting an HD experience.

Frankly for me, any display over 32-inches is overkill if it's for something like personal use in a bedroom. No need get a huge HDTV worth over $1000 in which you probably have to sit far away from in the first place to not ruin your eyesight.
