  1. I should probably watch SATam then, lol!
Yeah, I think it would be better if they just made Sally stand back a little, doesn't nessarily have to be the total side character, but maybe a main support character for the game characters... Yeah, that sounds alright to me!
  2. Lol, I pretty much do like Red and just give the book a quick read in the stand or just wait for it on Youtube. Still killing Sally is really not that necessary when all they could do is just give her back her SatAM personality instead of making her this perfect princess, downplay her (she is a support character, not co-protagonist), slowly phase her out and give Amy the place that rightfully belongs to her at the side of Sonic and Tails. Saddly this will never happen unless Sega steps up or they give the franchise to another editorial, if possible without including any of the SaTAM stuff.
  3. I remember that! Though there are so many stories on why Sally didn't die...
    1) Fans didn't want her to die (somewhat believable... It's unlikely for a Sally hater to pick up a comic since it's always about her)
    2) SEGA had plans for her (I don't really believe this one that much. But like you said, it's probably SEGA of America if anyone that would have wanted her if this was the case
    3) The editor refused to let Sally die (I can't remember where I heard this one, but this one seems pretty valid to me)
Honestly, if they wanted Sally to be more respected, they should have let her die. But we'll never know the real reason why they didn't kill her off >_<
  4. That reminded me that she was supposed to die in ënd game"but was spared (despite the fens wanting her gone around that time) because sega was apparently considering to including her (really need a citation of that one). The thing however is that the only ones who might have considered her were the people of SoA, but definitively not by SoJ and IIRC the one female that almost made it was Tiara Bobowski (Sonic Xtreme), who pretty much fit the same category of generic action girl and was luckily scrapped, opening the door for Amy to finally make her playable debut in SA1. Why Archie didn't scrap Sally when a) she was not wanted in the comic and b) Sega didn't and never will is just ridiculous.

And lol, more propaganda, kind of sad that the Jazwares clkassic Sonic & Amy comic pack comes with the Sally bible revisited. XD
  5. Yeah, that whole "Sally's in Sonic the Hedgehog (1)" really annoys me at times... I bet Sally wasn't even thought off or made at that time. Of course, it's just the Sally fans who want to try to convince people that "sally is better than Amy cause she was made before Amy in Sonic 1!!!1!" Heh, they should know regardless that if a character was made before another doesn't make that character better than the character created after it...

Archie and their brainwashing plans XD
  6. Then again we have the forced attempt to give Sally more precedent by saying something about she technically appearing in the first Sonic game in the form of Ricky (I think that's the name of the squirrel you save in S1) which honestly is hilarious because that is pushing things by making up stuff while on the other hand Amy was Amy since the first days of April 1992 and made the jump to the game franchise with just visual changes in her design but keeping her personality pretty much intact.

As for brainwashing, well, just look at the Genesis arc. It's pretty much Ian's way to indoctrinate newer fans into the Sally worshipping cult. So yeah, I guess that also comes into play. XD
  7. Don't worry, time around here is pretty much meaningless XD

Another really shallow reason they mention is "That's what I grew up with" (Whic is silly because I grew up with Robotech and then found out about the original which is Macross, much better than the american adaptation), however that is not a valid reason either because before that in Japan the setting was still under constrauction and the franchise hadn't fully established it's backstory and characters, which render any assumption from SoA as invalid and non-canon.
  8. Sorry I didn't reply earlier!! I had to do so much work this week T_T

Anyhow, yeah, Sally just hasn't done anything that would really make me say "well maybe she does show some commitment to Sonic". Really she has nothing to really back up why this couple should be together other than what you mentioned before", that "they grew up together" I really don't know why fans like this couple (maybe brainwash XD)
  9. If we are honest, she never sacrificed anything. And the only reason ther fans bring up is that they "grew up togheter". From my perspective that really doesn't work because people move on, plus that backstory for Sonic is not canon and it involves forcing another character into his life, which further invalidates the couple (as if their personalities and roles didn't do that already).
  10. Yeah, I noticed the same thing with the archie comics... I mean, you see Mina dive in and take a bullet (literally) to save what makes the person she loves happy, and to me, at least Mina cares about Sonic's happiness and that says something. Then you have Amy who even moves aside for the "oh-so-perfect" Sally just to make Sonic happy. Amy pretty much sacraficed her dream ere just to makes Sonic happy... And then you have Sally? What the heck has she done or sacraficed for Sonic? Maybe I'm forgetting something significant here that may justify Sonic going for her, but I haven't seen her once ever sacraficing something for Sonic. Mina was willing to give away her life, while amy was willing to give away a dream, while Sally is willing to give away a slap? Man, I must be forgetting something that Sally has done... Now that I've said it all, it really does show the flaws Sally has.
