I have a valid copy of Sonic Generations from Steam on my Windows 7 laptop. I love it so far. The Classic levels bring back a good sense of nostalgia, I love the modern levels, it's nice to play pinball at Casino Night, and every single boss or stage brings back happy memories. I'm at Speed Highway, and I've been doing those Challenges before I start Speed Highway. I've noticed that on the later Classic challenges as well as Classic Speed Highway and a FEW Modern challenges, everything but the FX like the spindash puffs and infinity loop on Sonic's running is very blurry. I first noticed this on the Classic challenge with the swings. In the one on Chemical Plant, Modern Challenge, where you chase the Sprinkler thingy for rings, the water is so mucked up I can barely see Sonic.

Plus, when I enter ANY level, the Now Loading text and the level name is often a bunch of garbled symbols. I am running the HD mod and the Unleashed FX Pipeline and no others, although I do have a few, and the problem still persists even after deactivating these mods. I swear that this is a LEGIT copy so I don't understand this issue that seems like it should only happen on cracks. Help please?

I tried hitting the Egg Dragoon with one of the Sonic's and with the crap that's on the way.

By the way, I'm asking here because I can't watch YouTube due to be using Mobile Internet (which would run out if I watched videos).

I heavily tweaked SweetFX for this game using SweetFX 1.4. I wanted to make this game feel like a full-blown cartoon experience. The colors are bright, characters and objects have black outlines to give it a cartoon feel, and lighting is different.

Before:
http://abload.de/img/screenshot39747hbw8.png
http://abload.de/img/screenshot44999cuw2.png

After:
http://abload.de/img/screenshot367561afr.png
http://abload.de/img/screenshot4611w6z97.png

The mod does effect menus (most just look different and no real harm is done).

I will make it so you have to copy and paste to download (don't want anybody accidentally clicking it and a lot of places aren't fans of links).

Download Here:

Code:

http://speedy.sh/kmfY3/Sonic-Generations-Cartoon-SweetFX.zip

Hope others can enjoy this!

This can be toggled on and off in-game using the Scroll Lock key.

Installation:
You need to copy and paste all of the files in the folder to the Sonic Generations directory. Don't separate the files in the folder titled "SweetFX" though, you need to move that whole folder into the directory as is.

EDIT: Would like to add that if you download this, I would love to here your opinion on it. I can make tweaks to it based on what people want or I can teach some how to tweak it themselves.

EDIT 2: Added more images for comparison.

I think the voice actor change since Free Riders has been kindest to him. I really dig his new voice, it actually fits him without being annoying like his previous VAs could bee* at times. Although he does sound a little old for someone who's six.

Also, he's the only member of the Chaotix who acknowledges Sonic's change in appearance when you rescue him as Classic. That's kinda sad, isn't it?
On the topic of the others, Espio's new voice is also really good, although I didn't have much issue with his previous voices to begin with. His new voice is still my favorite, I think. While Vector's current voice is still rather silly like his X voice, at least here he seems to be able to believably emote. That's a step up, at any rate, although it doesn't really fit him the way his Heroes voice did.

And finally HOLEECRUD YOU HORRIBLE LITTLE INSECT YOUR PRANKS CONSIST OF DROPPING SPIKED BALLS ON ME?!?

*Oh yeah. I went there.

Plus Sonic is PURPLE!!!! What the heck? The sounds are still killin me! At least in SMCP they "improved" them ( thus making it un-liked among purists) but now they have lost porting altogether. Why?

firts i have to tell you that generaions is a goood fun game ok so no this is my opinion

Genrations made you be kid sonic back in sonics classic time to see his story but i have to stop you right there i cant handle the problems.

kid sonic iw weak i get hes classic and all but why weak, he cant even defend from a motobug theu just knock him over, unleashed let you rip through bots at throttle speeds and crush everything you hate during night. generations us like, play as sonic, now ay as sonic as a little kid.

unleshed let you have the wolf form with big really ig adms and razor hunting claws to destroy prey everywhere.

nope baby sonic in generations, he does not even talk yet how old is he?

next thing i know you dont even get a dreamcast story for playing as everyon else just sonic and weak classic.
shadow and silver have new back stor i wanted to see with lassic stories so you can esee what here were as kids, they probably could talk too.

unleashe did not need more characters cuz sonic was the only fighter there, here we have knuckles, the warior and shadow and silver to time travelers and they just buddy with sonic in the end like sonic needs all the story.

char ters that know sonic since claßic times dont get classic forms ether just tails, tails isnt even a fighter hes a scientist and npt as powerful as chaos monsters like shadow or masters of tyime like silver, they just attack you for no reson and then ok with it

then this gamedoesnypt have a theme, just tenderoni for trailers and a boring orchestra tendoroni for the timeater its just terible.
sorry but this is my opinion andyou cant just argue with opinions.

Ever since the game Sonic Generations has come out, certain fans have found tremendous fault with the plot. While it is admittedly difficult to use...

Ever since the game Sonic Generations has come out, certain fans have found tremendous fault with the plot. While it is admittedly difficult to use time travel in a story, Generations went a number of pitfalls and plot holes that novices come up with. Think about the time that Classic Tails just showed up, with no context as to his reappearing. Think about the fragility of Eggman's plot, how it often defied logic as the most inefficient way to kill a hedgehog. I could go on and on about the flaws this story contains, but it's all been said before, numerous times. That is where we fail, ladies and gentlemen of the forum. You see, my absence has not been in vain, for I have uncovered the truth. We focused so much on the various plot holes and have been fascinated with so many continuity errors that we have missed the forest for the trees! You see, it doesn't matter WHAT the plot holes are, but HOW they came to be. After careful thinking, I have come to the conclusion that the travesty of Eggman's Epic Time Traveling Fail was not by his own design. No, the sole blame for this conflict falls on the shoulders of none other than one of the Sonic series' most hated antagonists, Eggman Nega.

We may never know exactly when Nega began to set things in motion. Perhaps a subconscious suggestion was dropped in his doppelganger's head after Eggman's failure to control Dark Gaia. Since Nega has the exact same amount of intelligence as Eggman, he has both the knowledge and the resources available to manipulate others. From there, Eggman got the brilliant idea to build his Incredible Interstellar Amusement Park, which just so happened to use just the right resources to either create or unleash the Time Eater. Coincidence? I think not.

Now, fast forward to Generations. Comparing Eggman's behavior in that game to his behavior in Color's, we notice some startling differences. Eggman seems to be losing his grip on reality with each successive game. However, I think that Eggman Nega managed to kidnap Eggman after his defeat in Colors, hide him somewhere where no one could find him, and proceed to disguise himself as him. He's done it before, on multiple occasions, so he has had suitable practice. The fatal error to this disguise is the strange absence of Eggman's assistants Orbot and Cubot. Being robots, they are entirely loyal to their original master, so Nega had to deal with them in a similar matter as he did with Eggman. Thus, while Classic Eggman is legitimately who he says he is, Modern Eggman is a fake with an underlying goal more sinister than anything the real Eggman could ever achieve.

It's been established that Eggman Nega is completely insane. While he is intelligent and, unlike Eggman, normally maintains a calm demeanor under fire, his end goal is simply to cause as much destruction and chaos as possible. What better way to create chaos than by mutilating the time stream? Taking Classic Eggman out of his time is the easiest way to do it, because since he becomes Modern Eggman, he instigates all future plots for Sonic to foil. His absence from normal continuity thus creates numerous continuity errors. Classic Eggman, due to lack of experience, would not have caught on as quickly what his ally's true motives were. Modern Eggman, having dealt with both Nega and other monsters devoted to total annihilation in the past, never would have signed on to the idea, and thus had to be silenced. You see, the plot of Generations looks like a joke because it IS a joke! No sane person would instigate such a scheme! It doesn't make sense because NO SENSE WENT INTO IT IN THE FIRST PLACE!

Now, a number of you are probably thinking about the concept of White World and it's implications on discarded timelines. Either Eggman Nega knew about its existence beforehand, or he's simply too crazy to care about it. The former argument makes sense, because if Nega could simply slip away to another timeline, it explains his rather strange escapes from certain death. This would also mean that he would know a way OUT of the White World, and is simply keeping Classic Eggman there to instigate some extra chaos on the side. The real Eggman probably escaped his prison and found a way to set things right, but probably couldn't do it without making more continuity errors. No matter what happens, Nega wins, because he simply doesn't care about the outcome.

So, in short, Eggman Nega is a living manifestation of the series' plot holes, one fat and intelligent time-traveling troll. Thank you for your attention. Exits to the left.
