So the game is going to be an exclusive, whatever. Get a WiiU or you'e not playing it, that's the end of it.

In this thread, I actually want to discuss the game; We've seen this image

To me, it looks alot like Super Mario Galaxy - the way the planet is split into many different regions that all looks unique - I can see the standard leafy green forest area, an ice area, a lava area, but then I see two areas that both look desert-ish, and almost looks like water, but seems too blue. . .
And then there's a blank area which looks like an aerial zone - maybe they'll be a zone where you control Tail flying the tornado? It's set-up alot ike a Mario game, isn't it?
I think this might be a Mario crossover

So what do you think this is?

This isn't really "official" it's just a thread for anything related to Lost Worlds, because there were always specific topics about the game, this one is just lost worlds.

Sooo, a respectable amount of the mainstream Sonic games have been announced on either April or May. This was done by a teaser trailer followed by a sub-forum being opened over here.

Now that the game was revealed by Nintendo, and by a picture no less, would Sega take it slower? Do you think they will use the momentum gained by being the only real news in the last Nintendo Direct, and go all out with a teaser and maybe some in-depth info about the game in the next few days? Or would they act like Ninty and leave the fans hanging in the balance for a few weeks (until E3/June) with any further information?

I hope Sonic Lost Worlds is not boost to win gameplay,

Sonic Lost World and Mario and Sonic at the Sochi Olympic Winter Games are those 2 titles. This is good news for people who thought that they're going to wait 3+ years for a Sonic Game on other consoles.

If you go to Sonic's Official Facebook page you could see that they replied to one of the commentators saying what I stated previously. I know that most of you already know this, but this is for people who don't.

I just hope that the 3rd title would be a port of Generations or any other Sonic Game.

It seems to be somehow related to 2008/9's Sonic World Adventure / Sonic Unleashed.
As Sonic attempts to unite the world together again, one (hexagonal) piece/zone at a time.
That and also the Digimon Frontier connection. (Consumed by Cherubim Queen EVE... er, Cherubimon)

Ah yes, the Sailor Moon series and the Digimon series were animated by Toei Animation.
The hand drawn animation of 1993's Sonic the Hedgehog CD were done by Toei Animation.
While some often compare the animation style to 2002~2003's Digimon Frontier.
The actual enviroments in the animation themself actually resemble the enviroments in Dragon Ball,
and Dragon Ball of course was also animated by Toei Animation. (Then there is Super Sonic...)
Meanwhile the Little Planet itself actually resembles the Digital World in 2001~2002's Digimon Tamers.
The 'Lost World' in Sonic Lost World resembles 2002~2003's Digimon Frontier's Digital World.

Though Production I.G. (Sonic Riders) and Tokyo Movie Shinsha / TMS Entertainment (Sonic X)
these days are a lot closer toward SEGA than Toei Animation, especially TMS Entertainment.

Okay. 1993's Sonic the Hedgehog CD featured the debut of Amy in the games.
(Though she was implied to have already meet Sonic before that game)

As for the enviroments of Sonic Lost World. They can be seen in other SEGA games.

Examples from the 7th Dragon 2020 series and Phantasy Star Online 2 are:
- A desert enviroment with urban buildings.
- An urban enviroment covered with vegetation.

However both might be two different outcomes.
If Sonic does it one way, the enviroment showed up as desert style.
If Sonic does it the other way, the enviroment showed up as forest style.

Similar to the way 1993's Sonic the Hedgehog CD was set up.
A free Eggman world in the future, or a world with Eggman machines in the future.
That depends on how much Time Stones that Sonic got,
or what Sonic did in the Past (Destroying Eggman's robotizer and Metal Sonic's hologram).

Wood = Green. (A forest or desert enviroment) - Rider

Earth = Yellow. (A hilly or mountainous or volcanic enviroment) - Raffine
Metal = Purple. (A machinery enviroment) - Klug
Adjust the elements of a particular enviroment, and the enviroment will change!
Each 'zone' (a.k.a. hexagon) requires a certain balance of elements. Adjust it carefully...

What about the Microsoft XBOX 360 and the Sony PlayStation 3?
There is also another Sonic game that SEGA have been working on...
It was developed since 2008/9 and was planned to be released in 2011.
Since while SEGA were preparing 2011'S Sonic Generations for the Nintendo's Wii and Nintendo DS.
SEGA were also preparing another game for the Microsoft XBOX 360 and the Sony PlayStation 3.

When the other game got cancelled and Nintendo of Japan can not guarantee a full support,
plus they really needed a Sonic game with 3D display capability. (To sell 3D TVs...)
2011's Sonic Generations was later on converted into other (3D display capable) platforms.

Stop talking about Sonic Lost World's exclusivity

Seriously. Just focus on the important news here - Sonic is entering the 8th gen. Buy a Wii U if you will, don't buy it if you won't. But it's ridiculous to have so many threads just about the game's target console.

Stop comparing Sonic Lost World's exclusivity to Sonic Color's exclusivity

That's apples and oranges, this exclusivity deal is far worse than Sonic Colors being just a Wii game. First of all, when Sonic Colors was announced for Wii, there were tens of millions of Wiis sold. It's not wrong for SEGA to assume many of the Sonic fans wanting the game had a Wii, and in fact many of them did.

But Sonic Lost World only being for Wii U? Now that is a bad move and alienating a huge chunk of the fans. Many Sonic fans do not have a Wii U, the system is struggling to even sell horrid numbers each month and the latest sales figures are lower than ever. SEGA knows that many Sonic fans dont have a Wii U, and many of us just dont ever want one (look at the sales, it's not an appealing product) but this deal is saying "Well you have to buy one if you want Sonic Lost World". They are completely aware most Sonic fans dont have a Wii U unlike Sonic Colors that was on a console that the majority owned.

So many, many more fans will be missing out on this game than the amount that missed Sonic Colors. Sonic Lost World just isnt enough to invest in a console that is losing support and missing key features HD consoles have. My opinion of SEGA has dropped as a whole, because they chose a console with a shaky future to bring this game to and be the only place to play the true version of the game and didnt care about the amount of us who wont play it now. Well maybe they'll feel us missing when the sales numbers are in for Sonic Lost World

I really think there's a curse on the Sonic franchise if Sonic Lost World will be that amazing Sonic game people have been waiting for, scoring well and impressing in every area but Sonic's rise to his former glory never happens because its on a platform hardly anyone wants to buy

When I heard the news yesterday about Sonic: Lost World being a Wii U exclusive, it kinda bummed me out, but excited at the same time.

I think I will need to see some gameplay, and more info, if I'm going to buy a Wii U for this game. Now that Nintendo/SEGA has a 3 title partnership, it'll make me probably get one.

What do you non-Wii U owners plan on doing?

Sega and Nintendo are going to make a new Sonic game called "Sonic: Lost world" ,And as a lot of you guys know "Lost World" Is a level of SADX, but the announcement only showed one pic.
It looks like there's going to be A Sky levels, Rock Level, Volcano Level, Green level, Dessert level, and a Water level. The only problem is that we still don't know what the levels are going to be called.

And finally realised why I prefer SA2 over it.
-The story is too much messy and you have to watch the same cutsece with every character every time.
-While e102gamma is better than Tails and Eggman's mech in SA2, and Sonic, Tails and Knuckles have a pretty good gameplay, there is one of the various gameplay styles in this game which is very boring and I hate it: no, it's not Big the cat, I finished his story in 30 minutes more or less; I'm talking about the adventure fields. It's nice to explore them the first time you play the game, but now that I already know the game, they're just boring and confusing.
Loading, find the place and do that thing in order to procede with the game, sometimes I forgot what to do and I lost several minutes taking the train from Station Square to Mystic Ruins and return.
I don't know why people like hub worlds, they're just a pain in a Sonic game (I hated them in Sonic Advance 3 too).

What I liked is that, despite all the glitches, it had a lot more interaction than the recent games, not just in level design but in the controls and in the engine of the game itself also.
Modern games are just made of bottomless pits and invisible walls, automated sections and 2D sections, the character is hard to control at low speed and the moveset is boost-centric, so you can't do many things other than smashing objects or enemies.
