I think the best way for Sega to re-enter the console business is with a partner. It would be great to see Sega back in the console business, but sad to see them break their long standing relationship with Nintendo. So why don't Ninty and Sega team up, and make a console together? That would certainly blow Sony and Microsoft out of the water!

Yakuza HD edition for Wii U was announced during the nintendo direct broadcast for Japan. Could we see perhaps more HD ports down the pipeline, Shenmue 1 &2 HD even perhaps?

Sega stated today during today's Nintendo direct, an unprecedented partnership would begin between Nintendo and SEGA working together. Its going to be interesting to see what else will come of this new 'unprecedented partnership'..

Big news.

Next three Sonic titles exclusive to Nintendo platforms, to be co-developed and published on Wii u and 3ds...Thoughts?

Quote:

New partnership for three exclusive titles as publisher continues transition to PC market, Nintendo

Sega Europe has handed the publishing and distribution rights to the next three Sonic the Hedgehog titles exclusively to Nintendo.

The move follows Sega's continued focus on the PC market with hits like Football Manager, Total War and Company of Heroes - and compliments Nintendo's portfolio of family-friendly titles. The deal includes Sonic Lost World, Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games and one other game to be revealed at a later date.

"Sega have chosen to exclusively partner with Nintendo to distribute or publish the next three Sonic the Hedgehog titles throughout Europe and Australia," Jurgen Post, COO of Sega Europe, confirmed to GamesIndustry International.

The deal is an extension of the publishing duties Nintendo has taken on for previous Olympic Games titles. Sega US will still publish Lost World in the region.

"This is a strategic partnership that does not affect our existing distribution network across these territories and with whom we are looking forward to working with on the upcoming releases of Total War: Rome II and Company of Heroes 2," he added.

Sega now has three main pillars of business after a restructuring process that took place last year. As well as the PC business, the company is also building its mobile and digital efforts, sidelining the more traditional boxed console market

We all know the strategy of "4 Pillars", only 4 retail game series per year (Sonic, Aliens, Total War and FM) with the rest of the Sega offer to be digital and mobile games.

The problem for a Sega fans is that between those "4 pillars", only one is a Real SEGA console series, Sonic the hedgehog.
Now Sega announced that the next Sonic, Sonic Lost World will be exclusive for the Nintendo WiiU and 3DS.

So I ask Sega "What us console gamer should play from here to 2014 without a WiiU?"
Only HD portings?

Isn't time to seriously re-think the entire strategy and offer?

Give us the NDS and PSP Shining games as well or let another company do it
Make a VITA version of Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst as well that runs on a server set up similar to Phantasy Star Portable 2 and Infinity and make sure that we get ALL of the content this time

We dont know how many times Streets of Rage was pitched but the ones we do know of beat the number of actual installments. Im am happy SEGA understands there is a demand for the return of this Legendary series but dont quite think know to bring it back appropriately but look no futher:

Ignore music art direction and characters because thats not the focus but look solely at the design and Mechanics.

This would be perfect for a New SOR game. It allows for a full 3D enviornment, Coop while still retain the classic beat em up style. It will obviously need to be faster but this is a perfect start.

Sega Wii U Football game? Mutant League Football?

Dear Sega,

I wanted to write to you as I see an opportunity for your business to grow with game potential for the Nintendo...

Dear Sega,

I wanted to write to you as I see an opportunity for your business to grow with game potential for the Nintendo Wii U. As you probably already know, EA has already said that they would release no more games for Nintendo systems. I wasn’t a fan of the Madden games anyway but I have been hurting for a good football game for some time. I miss the days of NFL2k5 and previously NFL 2k1 on my now retired but beloved Dreamcast. Those were amazing games. As EA is refusing to do Madden on the Wii U, I believe this is your opportunity to jump into this market for the Wii U. You have always done it better than EA anyway.

In short, I want a football game for the Wii U. I know that EA has exclusive rights to NFL names and such but I think this may be a chance to push a football game in some imaginative directions.

Although it was also an EA game back for the Sega Genesis, one of my favorite games was Mutant League Football. A modern version of this game could be outstanding. Imagine modern graphics with trolls, skeletons, robots, zombies, and anything else playing football on a field in space/hell/whatever with mines and fire pits. There are some interesting possibilities here that could make for a new game unique to modern consoles. I’d be happy with a normal football game here and I would buy it, but some sort of football game like this would pull my interest even further. I have many ideas for a Mutant League Football-esk game as I have been thinking about it for many years now. I would be happy to share.
I want a football game for the Wii U(Normal or Mutant League), Even if EA wasn’t being Evil and childish, I would still prefer one from you.

Please, Make this happen!
Thank you,
