It would be made and look just like that, with optional character and enemy skins.
So you can choose from the original, the 1990's, and the 2014 models. Awh just use the 1990's models.

-Sonic Freedom is SEGA's next main entry in the Sonic the Hedgehog series.
-Current confirmed platforms are Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, PS4 and 'Durango'
-The gameplay style seen in Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Generations is gone (the new engine allows smooth, full 3D movement without the 'on rails' effect), but some mechanics still remain. Sonic still has his Boost and Quick Step. The time taken to fill up the boost gauge has significantly increased. Sonic has the Sonic Dash rendition of the Spin Dash, which replaces the Slide.
-The 3D to 2D camera switch gimmick is gone. There are now levels that are fully 3D and levels that are fully 2D.
-Orchestral soundtrack returns, some stages also including light rap.
-Only Sonic and Tails are playable. Tails' moveset is identical to Sonic, of course excluding his flight ability. Tails is slightly slower than Sonic on foot.
-The whimsical themed stages from Sonic Colors are back. Expect some even more ludicrious stage scenarios.
-There is the main story mode and a 2 player race mode similar to the Sonic Simulator.

That is all I will say at the moment. Feel free to archive this in the odds that any of this turns out to be true. Keep cool Sonic fanbase, the long awaited game is coming.
I saw this on Sonic Stadium but it was removed quickly! What do you think? Obviously fake or maybe real? Would you want this game?

The Phantasy Star Online series will have its 15th anniversary at 2015.
2015 is also the 24th anniversary of the Shining series,
the Sonic the Hedgehog series, and the Puyo Puyo series.

The Puyo Puyo series probably could be doing a big celebration at its 24th anniversary,
instead of the usual 25th anniversary (1/4 century) that is usually done by other series.
In theme with its word play on the number 24 (Puyo).

So maybe something big is currently being prepared for 2015~2016?

The 'ARKS' team (Phantasy Star / Shining / Sonic / Puyo Puyo / 7th Dragon / etc...)
certainly have been doing a lot of collaborations between these projects in the last several years.
= +

For the Sonic part, it will be officially announced in 2014.
Since that both SEGA of America and SEGA of Japan
usually officially announce the next direction of the Sonic series in a 5 years term.
1989->1994->1999->2004->2009->2014->2019->...

Here are some examples of the previous plans:
1989 = The start of the development on 1991's Sonic the Hedgehog.
1994 = The start of the development on Sonic R_PG_ (the early version of 1998's Sonic Adventure)
1999 = Sonic Team USA were tasked as the sole developers of big Sonic games.
2004 = The conversion of previous still in development Sonic projects into 2006's Sonic the Hedgehog.
2009 = The start of the development on multiple Sonic projects for Sonic's 20th anniversary.

Not all plans went smoothly though. Here are some examples.

1989.
A U.S.A. first release for Sonic games is not really that beneficial.
Ironically, it is actually more detrimental toward SEGA of America, especially these days.
This was later on revised (temporary) in 1999. Developed in the U.S.A. but released first in Japan.

1994.
Sonic RPG's release was delayed. It was later on converted from a SEGA Saturn game
into a SEGA Dreamcast game, and then it was released in 1998 as 1998's Sonic Adventure.

1999.
Sonic Team USA were not powerful enough to become the sole developers of big Sonic games.
In 2004, they were planned to be upgraded with 2006's Sonic the Hedgehog as its flagship product.
In 2004 also, Sonic Team USA was rebranded as Sega Studio USA.

2004.
In 2005, the 2006's Sonic the Hedgehog project was abandoned. It was later on replaced with
2007's Sonic and the Secret Rings and 2008/9's Sonic World Adventure / Sonic Unleashed.
Sega Studio USA were only slightly upgraded to become a Nintendo's Wii game developer studio,
they did not become a full Sony PlayStation 3 / Microsoft XBOX 360 game developer studio.
This caused a lot of strains when they converted 2011's Sonic Generations into a HD version.

2009.
There were supposed to be multiple Sonic games in 2011. However the events after March 2011
caused 2011's Sonic Generations to be main Sonic game for 2011.
Lots of other Sonic projects were later on reworked into future games (2013?).

Anyway. Assuming that it takes another 2 years to developed another 7th Dragon game.
2015 will also be the next timeframe when the next 7th Dragon game showed up.
2009 (Nintendo DS)->2011 (Sony PlayStation Portable)->2013 (Sony PlayStation Portable)->2015 (?).

So there's this rumor going around that Sega is making a new console called the Sega Spectrum. Is it true? Is Sega finally going back to being a first-party company? I think the Sega Spectrum will be really powerful because Sega was always known for making consoles that seemed ahead of their time. Will it be able to compete with PS4, Xbox 720, and Wii U? Will Sega make Sonic able to compete with Mario and make other successful franchises? Is this rumor even true? If it's true, I could see Sonic Adventure 3 being a launch title for the Sega Spectrum. Think about it! Sonic Adventure 3 would be the perfect way to kick off Sega's return to the console business! I hope Sega Spectrum really is Sega's next console. If so, though, it'll need LOTS of good first party and third party support.
But from what I've heard, Sega's going to continue making games for Wii U, Xbox 720, PS4, 3DS, PC, PS Vita, and mobile platforms. But maybe Sega will make games for their console and other companies' consoles...? Just kidding, that would be a terrible business strategy. If you ask me, I think this rumor sounds like a hoax. If not, what do you guys think? And would you like to see Sonic Adventure 3 as a launch title for this "Sega Spectrum"? Please discuss! :D
