Mmm... maybe only for weekends since I love to do nothing but stay on bed while I hear the comforting sound of a storm. The nostalgia googles, they sure are a thing that can hold back the industry when it's used for the wrong reasons, like the cases you mention since it can discourage people from moving forward and instead trying to relive the "good old days" like the stufff that happens with the Sonic franchise. At most the old games should be a guide but not the goal. True, though with the current economic situation where people think twice before making a purchase, it's sort of understandable why they want to play safe, especialy when one consides how the costs of development for a AAA title can sometimes compete with the costs of making a Hollywood movie. Agree with the reviewers thing. Though I also have to blame their audience for accepting every single word as truth. (though there are exceptions when their views are contested)
I would actually accept the offer since last time it snowed here was in 2002. XP Yeah, the 80's is when the industry made a recoveryafter the Atari fiasco and set the rules, but the 90's was perhaps the most important one not only for the new ways to make gams but also the emergent technologies and the exploration of 3-D games. And now that the tehnology reached a high point, the question is "what's next?" and until the industry finds an answer we'll keep see games that feel samey and more and more sequels of established franchises until they run out of ideas... It's kind of ironic how the technology that was supposed to help the developers find new ways to make games fun is what is limiting their imagination.
Yeah, it really depends. For example I live in a city that is the most important point for trade and commerce between Mexico and the US, but saddly said point is a very attractive spot for people that want to make easy money with illegal activities. So far thinks seem to be calm here and I hope they stay that way. I envy you, here the weather is quite hot. It was not until yesterday in the morning that the temperature dropped to a lovely 17 celsius. ^_^ Still, like you, for me the routine is go to work and do choirs at home to keep the place in order. Sometimes I draw or go to watch movies/play videogames. Only real proble is picking what to watch/play. Right now I don;t see much to catch my attentionwith games outside S&ASRT and possibly Halo 4... long gone are the days when videogames bombarded me with innovative premises, being the late 50's and mid 90's the most exciting period for the industry IMO.
Hi there. Not much, really. Then again that is a good thing considering the kind of stuff that makes headlines here (when the new actually go out). XP
Oh..been a stressful week for you?
