I don't see how any of this is being 'shoved' into your experience. If you don't want to use it, you don't have to - it is entirely optional.

Each system has their strengths, weaknesses, innovations - each is really good and worth your money. Ultimately though, if one system isn't for you, then it's not bad, it's just not for you.

Much like Rob, these are optional components to the overall game experience. Don't like them, don't use them.
