Chromehounds Severs?

Ok I know it is a fairly old game but still right now the servers for chromehouds have all gone offline and there are no messages about this. Would anyone know why this is???

If yes cheers, and if someone says go to http://help.sega.com and submit a ticket I tried and never received a commfermation email to activate my account

There was an attack and the servers are down pending a rollback as seen here:

Also, don't know why you didn't get a confirmation email, try PMing RubyEclipse or Clumsyorchid about that.

What do you mean by rollback?

Don't know for sure, I guess just a restore point for the servers, before they were compromised.

^ yeah, that's basically it, it's like doing system restore on windows, except much more complicated.

How long does one of these "restores" take place? Anybody have an idea? and what type of "attack" would we be talking about? Hackers or what?

These rollbacks vary from how long they have to push back and anything else they have to do with it. If it is a simple rollback, the process doesn't take long, usually a couple of hours at the most. But there are some circumstances that occur that there are bugs (or in the case), viruses, etc that have to be located and removed first, otherwise the rollback is nothing.

Judging from this, it is a serious problem, so keep an eye out and hopefully it will be back up soon.
