    Default Revenant Wings DSGB-37364A61 Odd

It's been a while since I got FF12: RW, & today, I finally got the urge to play it.

Alright.... The odd part is that the game ID, DSGB-37364a61, seems to be bogus/weird. [Other games appear to have the same ID, which have been deemed counterfeit.]

Back Silver sticker with a #1 (dark blue) covering part of NTR-005
    Front: NTR-AZ4P-USA
Strange: The back doesn't have code in black lettering, like my other DS games.

Well, I turned on the game, & it seems to be RW. [I compared the prologue I played to what someone posted on Youtube. It looks the same.] The whole thing puzzles me, though.

While the game seems to be legit, even though the ID doesn't appear that way, it does not fit the ARDS properly. Can you believe it? [& I really wanted an EXP modifier code!] ~shrugs~ Oh well.

Does any one know any thing about this or have RW with that ID?

I can tell you right now that there are not experience codes for each character in the game.

So if you want everyone in the game at lvl 99, you are going to have to do it by yourself (I did it most of them by myself before finding the experince codes only to find out that the codes were for everyone I already had at lvl 99).

Here is a tip to get the perfect ending...After each mission...Talk to EVERYBODY until they start repeating themselves. And once you have access to the bullition board, ALWAYS check it after you've talked to everyone (and they start repeating themselves).

I've decided that the FF12 game that I have is counterfeit. I looked at it, looked at it, kept on looking at it & concluded that it's not authentic.

The biggest giveaway: There's no serial # on the back of the cartridge.

Others: It does not fit the ARDS. That was my next clue, although I'm not sure that's a dead giveaway. Thank goodness for an ARDS. Oh my gosh, I can't believe I'm saying that!

The slots for the entire cartridge on the back by the pins are not entirely green.

It seems almost every thing else checks out perfectly. Can you believe it?

Well, I went bananas checking my other DS games + GBA cartridges to check their aunthenticity. Revenant Wings is the only 1 that isn't the real thing. It sucks, but at least my entire collection isn't fake. Now, that would've really rustled my feathers.

If you go down the page, you'll see what I mean. When I said the serial number was missing, I might have meant the lot #. Whatever the number is, the 1 at the back is missing. The pins also look different to official DS games I have.

I'll see if I can scan mine somehow.

are you honestly sure the serial number hasn't just rubbed off? i'll scan my copy of mario kart ds, the serial number is pretty much invisible, but i should be able to use photoshop to reveal it. it's only barely visible when viewed at a particularly obscure angle.

my old black ds lite had always been a little tight with games, and obviously dust gets into it, and scratches stuff.

Okay. Here are some pictures; I uploaded them as PNGs for any one who is interested. It's a comparison of a bogus + official [real] version of FFXII Revenant Wings that I happened to encounter. You can click slideshow to see it.

The link below is the general folder where there is a huge PDF as well as a folder with the PDF split into pieces & of course, the pngs from above.
