I was jerked into a tournament

Early this morning I was playing episode three as normal. I had some free time, so why not? It was fallout hour over at the US ships, and the JP ships were full, so I went to EU. I played a few warmup battles against cpus and another player. We parted way and I went back to US. After hanging in the lobby for about a half hour, a message appear on my screen, stating that the EU tournament had just began, it wished me good luck and before I knew it, I was forced into a tournament I never entered. I figured that I must have signed up for it, although, I knew I never did. When the battle began, instead of the usual SC's, a HUmar, named ??? (very similar to the offline free battle quest) was on the other side. I didn't want to risk anything so I battled anyway for a little while. Then he started doing earthquakes, viruses, and such. Just when I managed to beat him, and was falling, I dc'd.

If this has happened to anybody else, let me know. For now, I'm avoiding the EU servers until there is some explanation. I would rather have a loss than another disconnect on my record.

I actually tried to get it to happen again, but it isn't working. maybe there was a rare card I could have gotten. Can't blame me for looking.

I stopped trying to get to happen though, I guess it is a fluke.

heh.. maybe it was an event that just happens to random people online. If that's true, then you might have gotten an S rank auto for beating the guy if you hadn't d/c. well let's hope it happens to one of us and we can see for sure.

That sounds like the character/deck that the offline quest opponents use. Freaking Virus. I hate that card.

Some times, if you try to create/join a spectator team, it will enter you into tournaments without your permission. So if you did create a spectator game for a tournament it entered you into and you did not realize this. Before leaving a lobby, always check the "Check Tournament" button at the main counter just to check if you are in a tournament, or just go to "Cancel Tournament" just to save time.

something like that happened to me too, the EU servers tend to mess up alot, one time i was in their servers and entered a tourney, it was 20 minutes late for every battle lol, its defenatley a good place to go when youre bored; you never know whats gonna happen in there heeheehee

well first off from my experience is that if you enter a tourney and leave to another ship or block,that you are in a tourney and the time is about to start you dont enter the tourney and your replaced by a com and you get penalized,as far as i know the tourney always stay in that block from card 1- to lobby 15 soccer to wait for the tourney or otherwise you cant participate.

lol i know what happend to our sega guy!
There was prob a proxy guy on your server, or Billie joe wich has a modded game.
These ppl can actually do this kind of stuff and even take over your character.
So lets say one of those ppl set up a tournament, fully modded, and the had to leave. the game would not be able to know who signed up, since the other guys game was modded. So you end up playing his cheated battle. and because them game modders also mod cards, they mostly have very irritating COMS so they get more exp.

if you dont wanna believe me then don't but im telling you what MIGHT have happened, with the realistic options some players have these days.

( btw a proxy player is a person wich plays online via his pc.
this pc hosts the game lobby enabling the player to modify all kinds of stuff. The pc loads the lobby and everyone that enters after the proxyer end up inside that freaks lobby. Thats what happened on Vega 1 some time ago... he kept re-initialising all the ppl into the lobby, and the ep3 rank animations were messed up too. )

now a message to sega: if you would like to know more about this subject, i know some places on the net where they got this kind of info.
i really feel like sega shold check these out because all the cheaters/ game modifiers/cheat-makers are there. all in a big community.
