Default Your ideas for a large-scale tourney

As most people know, the Gather Cup was a complete failure. The map favored Arkz, and people abused the time limit and/or used low-cost Arkz decks to block the few pathways. If you had your own tourney like the Gather Cup, how would you make it fair? We could send ideas to ST for if they ever consider having another tourney. Here's my idea:

    Map:
    Code:
     1A1
    #####
    #####
    #####
    #####
     2B2
1 and 2 are the team starting points, A and B are the solo starting points (if it would be a solo tourney)

    Match Limit: None
    Phase Limit: 30 seconds
Dice: 3-5 (ST acually did something right in the Gather Cup. Great Dice.)
    Shuffle On.
    Loop On.
    Dice Boost Off.

    Deck Regulations:
-No more than 6 1-cost creatures
    -No Mines Brightness

    Tourney setup:
Each player has a whole week, 24 hours a day, to play matches. Each player can play 20 matches in the tourney ships, and once they finish their 20, they're transported back to the ship select, and can't return. Each match must be against a different player. After the week's over, the top scorers are the only people who can perticipate in the next 3 days, where there's a smaller version, where you play only 10 games. This repeats until there are only 256 players/teams remaining. Once there are, a bracket is set up, and it simply plays like a normal tourney from there.

I don't like the map it favors Ranged Hunters. The starting points shouldn't be right across from each other. I actually like the map for the quest Dramag sumthin. It is a 2 player quest thing. That way it would be set up that one arkz, and one hunter for each team. So when they are placed on the map, there is one arkz, and a hunter on each part. The smaller part should be expanded, and it should be 2 3 by 6 areas, separated by a 2 by 6 gap.

i like the rules, except the low cost. I think they should be able to put more then 4 one cost on the field, or to remove one cost period, take out n1 rank cards.

    Ranged Hunters problem: Revised map:
    Code:
      1#A#1
     #####
     #####
     #####
     #####
    2#B#2
About the 1 Hunter 1 Arkz thing: It stifles (sp?) creativity a bit, and the seperate maps might make multi-hits useless against Hunters, but it could be like:
    Code:
    #1## ##1#
    #### ####
    #### ####
    #### ####
    #### ####
    ##2# #2##
So stabs, guns, and techs can reach across if needed.

About removing 1-costs: 1 costs are good for strategy, and aren't abusive unless a deck is made out of them only.

About removing N1's: Why? I don't see anything cheap about them.

i like the idea of having a week to play against other players and get your 20 wins, or you could do it where you start off with like say 3 "chips" and bet them on the match that way you wouldnt be out in one loss, of course you would have to make it longer than a week, just an idea. and also i would like it to have different "levels" like lower, intermediate, and experienced, so ppl like me who arent super high leveled can have a chance

No matter how you look at it.All maps advantage someone.Like the Morgue give the advantage to story caracters that alot of movement. When you think about it.There is no field that has an equal advantage. If you don't agree with me that's fine. But this is just me thinking. :P
