Default Who is going to make the jump?

With PSU recently being announced to be a PS2/PC exclusive, it leaves me wondering how many of you are planning to switch with it? I have a PS2 and a decent PC, so you can expect to see me there .

Also keep in mind it's going to be released around the holidays, so maybe a new PS2 could also be on the wishlist?

I'll definitely get the game, even if for only the offline component. I've waited several years for a new PS RPG, finally I'm gonna get one. Hopefully the online component will be very entertaining.

As for what system, it would seem the PS2 would be the ideal platform for the offline game, but for online, it makes me think the PC, considering PCs have harddrives and thus having to install the game on the harddrive "should" make it operate faster. I was disappointed to read that Sega won't use the HDD for the PS2, since the new PS2 doesn't support it, but I feel that at least letting those who own an HDD still be able to use it, much like how RE Outbreak works. You can store the game information on the HDD so the loading times are quicker.

I'll definitely get it at some point, but I don't know which platform I'm going to get it for. If they do it like they did for FFXI, where PS2 players can play with PC players, and get all the same content, etc... then I'm probably going with PC. That'll save me having to buy a PS2 keyboard. If each will be separate, with differences in content, I'm probably going to wait a few months and see which has stuff I'm more interested in. I wonder if they'll do downloadable games to the PSP... and if they do, this time I could probably save them and play them whenever I want. :P

EDIT: Scratch the PC option... I just remembered my PC sucks and will probably break down and cry with PSU... so PS2 it is! The keyboard will be a ton cheaper than upgrading my PC, heh.

My best guess would be that the online portion of the game will be cross-platform compatible like FFXI considering it's for the PS2 and PC (The only 2 systems capable of cross-platform online capabilities.) The Gamecube lacks a similar media size (let alone online support from the main company) to be able to cross-platform with either the PS2 or PC. The Xbox actually meets all required specs for cross-platform connectivity, however, Xbox Live runs on a closed network, so the box is out as well.

Although, it would be nice for an online multiplayer game to be playable on any system and all people access the same network.

I'll probably get it for the PC. I can't type as fast as I can on software keyboard as with the PC keyboard. It'll be soo cool.

Just a note, the Playstation2 has an easier access to a keyboard than let's say, the Gamecube. If you want a keyboard for that system, you really need an adapter, usually purchased online. However, the PS2 can use any USB keyboard used for PCs or you can buy Datel's Powerboard for around $20 in most stores. Several stores sell the Gamecube Powerboard, but they can be hard to find.
