    Default PSU: Extra Mode!

Ok. The release date has been pushed back for PSU by quite a few months, and this is something that will depress many players and newbs awaiting this "big game". Yet, if any of you goto PSOWorld, you would have known about a new feature in developement called EXTRA MODE. This is something that many people will love because it gives the offline gamer a chance to create your very own custom character from scratch and play along in various missions and completed stages from story mode with other story mode characters whom have also accompanied you through story mode. You can feed and level your Partner Machinery up and everything.

Way to go Sega / Sonic Team! This is one additional feature that many will be pleased with!

Now all that is missing is offline multiplayer heh

    Ok Judas, either:

    1. You don't care for offline gameplay.
    2. You are not looking forward to PSU at all (freeeeak)
    3. Or you are just a freeeeak.

I dont quite see the attraction for offline character creation. I can see where not going online could be a problem for a lot of people, but the offline counterpart of PSO was so crappy it barely warranted buying the game. I myself would not have played the offline portion at all if I didn't have to do it just so that I could access all dificulties and stages online at any time.

Unless this Extra Mode gives some real bonuses the the gameplay, as in room extras partner machinery extras and such, I can see myself using it, but if its just a way to go through all the stages with a personally created character, I'll stick to online gameplay.

Now, I still would prefer to have character switching over offline character creation. Playing as Ethan in the main game might be allright, but it would be even better to switch between the other available characters at will to just overall better the game. And maybe give you the ability to pop in a second controller and another person can play as one of the other available characters as well. All this I would prefer over offline character creation.
    PSO Character:
    Khris - HUnewearl - Bluefull
    FFXI
Niname - Hume - Valefor server

A miniscule wave that comes to be can spread its ripples to the whole. Phenomena change with every moment, just like a drifting wave.

I've been playing PSO offline since 03', there's nothing wrong with it, I've NEVER played PSO online (although I wish I could).

Trust me when I say this, once you go online with the game, it puts the offline game to complete shame. Think of the exact same game, but with other people playing instead of AI controlled characters.

And no offense, but I remember when I had the game for the Dreamcast and after completing Normal mode, I didnt have the patience to continue on to harder dificulties until I was able to go online, and considering I had dial-up at the time, it wasn't as often, then never when I got Broadband until the Gamecube version. After that, offline was just a waste of my time, how can so many people play this repetitive game offline and enjoy it, considering it's really boring without other people. There are so many other good games out there to not waste your time on.

Well, income has something to do with it. Plus, my modem isn't compatible, so the chance of me playing EPI&II online are slim, but I do plan on playing Blue Burst when I get a new comp.

Ok this topic has been diverted from its original purpose but:

    Offline has its purposes:
    1. Unlock stages for quick online play/hunts with friends (if u don't wanna quest).
    2. Solo hunt with a few really good offline quests (i.e. Forest Of Sorrow).
    3. Certain weapons are obtainable only through offline, such as Soul Eater and offline Cmode weps.
    4. Multiplayer offline is always fun because you and your friend(s) can get angry together when you both die from Olga Flow's death rays. (haha)

Online is better without a doubt ofcourse. But Offline is also enjoyable from time to time.

Now that is awesome! I was disspointed when I first read that you can't customize your character offline but I guess Sega got the right idea! There are days when I just don't feel like getting online (or when the server or your Internet connection goes down for a day) so this option is great!
