    Default Lag?

This is a question to the American gamers who played the Japanese version.
Did you encounter any lag? I'm a Europian and being impacient for a online release in Europe scince both America and England speak English (and for some reason I like American gamers better most of the time) I was thinking aboht participating in the beta. But if theres gonna be umbearable lag I ll wait for the release on a Europian server.

    So here the question.
Will I encounter and lag from American servers while playing in Britain?

    Most probably.

When I play other games, especially when I'm connecting to servers in other countries, (For example, I play Unreal Tournament, and I played on servers located in the UK) I usually encounter lag of up to 0.25 seconds at the worst. It probably wouldn't hinder you that much, becuase of the type of game PSO is.

Can't really answer your question until the game comes out. But I played from Quebec on the Japanese servers and if you don't count the time I've played using a Radeon 7000 or an FX5200, I can't recall any lags.

If other players had bad connections, it didn't affect me, I just saw them appearing from one spot to another.

exactly. Blue Burst will run on a 56k. Broadband is only suggested for patches.

Probably runs, but since it's server side saving and that it uses GameGuard (a program that monitors your computer for any hacking tools that could be running), it probably sucks more bandwidth, so High Speed would be preferable.

When I played with a trial Japanese Blue Burst account back in February it worked pretty smoothly on my 56K connection.

For the Japanese version you had to fill out an online form and wait for your access information to be e-mailed to you. I would assume that this beta will be handled much the same way.

LoL, and good luck using AOL. It hasn't been compatible with any of the previous versions of PSO.

Its much different when its on a PC though... an internet connection is an internet connection. (most the time)

I doub't you'll have any trouble with your AOL broadband, but having AOL to begin with is trouble :P

one point to look out for is FPS lag, many people mistake lag with this

if your screen starts moving very slowly, its most likely because your graphics card/computer can not handle the setting its currently set at, our your HDD is defragmented/adware, you name it, itl slow your comp down, its always best to keep your PC in tip top condition before playing any game online

9 times out of 10 most people lag because of inadiquate hardware

if your noticing messages have a time lag from when youve entered to when they appear on screen its either

    Server lag(Unlikely)
    Lag(Likely)

if your warping around with the elastic band effect its either

    Server Lag(Unlikely)
    Lag (Likely)

    -

you shouldnt have much lag at all on Japanese PSO, PSO is a fairly no bandwidth consuming game,
