    Default Valkyria Chronicles 4 announced

    PS4/XBO/Switch 2018 worldwide.

I may actually give this a shot. South Park: Fractured But Whole was a great SRPG experience that made me realize that I can enjoy SRPGs afterall, so it's something that's definitely going to be on my radar, assuming it doesn't suck like the last Valkyria Chronicles game did.

Good to see that it's a multiplat release, too.

Noice. Maybe enough word of mouth has built around the series to actually sell this time around.

Sega could perhaps try marketing the game as well, that may help.

How much did they market for Persona 5?

Any TV commercials at all in the USA and Europe? =P

Lol it doesn't have to necessarily be a TV commercial; Atlus does an incredible job of marketing their games in North America without TV campaigns, as they did for P5. You'd have been hard-pressed not to know the game was coming out.

Quite different from how, say, Valkyria Chronicles was marketed. (Nobody had heard of it outside of people who frequent Sega blogs) and Sonic Forces, which was apparently advertised exclusively on the Sonic Youtube channel, lol.

That said, a TV campaign, if done well, is always an effective way to make the public aware of a game. Advertising on cable networks like Comedy Central or Adult Swim for example isn't comparatively expensive and can hit the right audience.

But yeah, TV isn't required, I only mentioned it with Sonic Forces because that was a series that had previously always been TV marketed.

    That isn't the full trailer

Anyways, i'm definitely excited by the announcement. It will definitely be advertised better than the first game. SEGA America is basically Atlus now, they aren't dumping all their advertising budget on bad Movie tie-in games. The fact that it's also multiplatform should help sell more copies too. Plus word of mouth from the first game.

The last VC game was quite great. Not sure what you're talking about.

He probably means Revolution which is still a major release for the series.

Two things, that's not a Valkyria Chronicles game, and two, it's a spinoff.
