    Default What's this monster?

    http://www.pso-world.com/images/item...ITHOUTBARS.jpg

It's the artwork for the "Shock Blow" Attack Action card from Ep.3. After trying to imagine this being one of all the monsters from every episodes, what is that O.o; ?

That with the unobtainable Toy Rappy card, if this monster does not appear in Ep. 1, 2 or even 4, is that a sign for another episode? I'd say unlikely, though.

...why the heck don't the IMG and URL BBCode work O.o; ??? I can't either post the image or even make a hyperlink.

If you're right, then I pushed my search into matching this thing with any monster in the previous episodes too hard XD ...and we have yet to see the representative of the other Rappy family.

I take that back from Phantasy Star III on Genesis. In that game, there were three different versions of the bird enemies, nowadays known as Rappies: Chirper (Rag Rappy), Warbler and Squaker (El Rappy).

The Squaker was a white-colored bird with blue tips on its "anteannas", just like the El Rappy does, and was the strongest of the three family. The El Rappy isn't then just a different version of the Rag Rappy: it IS an original enemy from the previous saga! Just like the Toy Rappy from PS3, where there were Chirbot, Warblbot and Squakbot.

The Warbler is a purple-colored bird, stronger than a Chirper but weaker than a Squaker. I often suspect the Love and Holiday Rappies to be of that family, which are close of this coloration and can fit the strength order of the Rappy families, but it's yet to be proven.

I got into this and found that out last year XD . If anything, there are things in PSO yet to discover and reveal...in this topic, starting with this monster on the card artwork O.o; ...

Finally, found out how to make links XD : I really thought that I'd need to type a BBCode hyperlinking to do that >.> .

Are you sure? At the top of the picture there are feathers O.o; ...and the back of a Claw's body is not segmented as such.

It's hard to tell what that is, it'd be easier to figure it out if the background was more evident to describe.

Yes I am quite sure. Those aren't feathers, rather they are the undersides of other claws. I know the game doesn't detail the creatures that well but I am most assured they are claws. I hate them so I think I'd know them.

I still doubt it. Call me a monster maniac if you want, but it's one of the monsters that I once looked at and studied for a hour. Its body is much too flat to be this thing. And I don't see razor-sharp jaws in there.

Claws might be weak in order of taking damage, but its jaws can be devastating: its flat body and levitating adaptation also makes it hard to hit with a close-range weapon, making this monster...an obvious annoyance :P . Techniques will definitely fry those things, however.
