Default Weird error when trying to change password

Hi everyone, long time no see!

I used to play Blue Burst, but cancelled my subscription a while back.

Seeing as it's about to be taken down, and there's free-play right now, I've been trying it out again quickly just before it goes.

That said, I'm still running into problems.
What I'm trying to do, is change the password on my account. I've logged into the playsega site, visited the https://billing.playsega.com/protect...ePassword.html page, and attempted to change my password to a new one.
This seems to work. In fact, the password change has even taken effect on the playsega site, meaning I need to use my new password if I want to log in. (All well and good!)

However, if I try to log into PSO Blue Burst and play, I get a 905 (invalid username or password) error.
My Blue Burst account isn't completely frozen though... I found out that I can still log in with my old password!

I've spent the past hour browsing the tech support forum, but I can't find a solution to this problem.
    Can anyone help?

The only thing I haven't tried is waiting a day, to see if there's a time-lag between the two. I'll get back to everyone tomorrow and let you know if that worked!

    Thanks for the assistance!

Had the same problem when I tried to change my password. I could not get it to work. Does not seem like there is a solution.

Hiya, just checking back with everyone.
Alas, it seems my password still hasn't been updated.

I did get the following email though:

    Hello Chris_c11t

You are receiving this email because you have (or someone pretending to be you has) requested a new password be sent for your account on psobb.com. If you did not request this email then please ignore it, if you keep receiving it please contact the board administrator.

To use the new password you need to activate it. To do this click the link provided below.

    http://boards2.sega.com/psobb_board/...ct_key=xxxxxxx

If successful you will be able to login using the following password:

    Password: xxxxxxxx

You can of course change this password yourself via the profile page. If you have any difficulties please contact the board administrator.
Thank you if someone is trying to help me.
However it is the password for the game that is the problem, not the password for this forum!

We've passed this through to our billing team, however we are working on some other issues that take priority at the moment. A fix may take longer than expected. If the issue is localized to PSOBB, it's possible that it will not be addressed, given the game will be closed shortly.

For the time being, can you use your original password for the game?

Hello Clumsyorchid, thank you for getting back to me!

But I'm afraid I really do need to change the password.
Is there a chance you could do something to either change it, or at least reset it or something?

Thanks for the help with this one!

Well, I just checked this issue against PSU and PSOBB. For PSU, you can change the password without issue, for PSOBB you receive an error 905. Since PSOBB is closing in less than 2 months, this issue will not be addressed.

If you have a working password, please use it for PSOBB for the remaining time within the game.

Jeeze, I really don't know what to say to you now. It wouldn't take someone more than five minutes to reset a password.

When PSOBB was repeatedly crashing when we were trying to move things between our inventories and the banks, I could put up with it without any ill thoughts towards Sega or the PSOBB team.

When I was locked out of the PlaySega site due to an error with my account, and it was not fixed or looked at for months, again I could put up with it without feeling too bad.

When people started using a bug in the game to duplicate items, ruining the economy of the game, I couldn't put up with it and quit. But at least I wasn't angry at anyone.

But today was the first time I've actually found myself shaking my fist in anger at your terrible support.
Today was the first time you've failed in your most important duty: you've actually physically stopped me from playing the game.

Congratulations, you've hit a new low.

I'm sorry, but PSOBB does not have much time left in it, we are focusing efforts on addressing other more pressing issues within the billing system. I'm only being honest, I don't want to string you along.

I personally cannot reset your password, we have no means to change this manually. Applying this fix would actually take some time, since the billing system is in a custom build for the free period.

If the original password works, then I'd highly recommend using it for the remaining time in the game.
