I know the deal with Rare leaving Nintendo looks like a bad thing (at least to most) but turns out this might be just what they need to turn around franchises that seemed to have gotten worn out. Putting new teams on these old franchises for a brand new installment in the series might be what the franchises need to breathe "new life" into it. It's been awhile since I've enjoyed anything by Rare (Conker's was okay, DK was good, but other than that...) and I'm not too upset about losing Banjo. I don't think DK will be leaving Nintendo however, because if I remember correctly, Nintendo still owns some liscencing on the name (at least) if not the whole product. But with Rare siding with X-box that means good competition platform-wise with Banjoo and Conker on X-box now (you know they needed it.) which means that both of the companies will have to try and do better to win in the platformer race. Also, with Sega giving a bunch of originals to Xbox, both Sony and Nintendo will have to start making something happen or the underdog might suprise both and come out on top by the end of the Next Gen era.
