    so I take it that the error about a virus scanner or firewall preventing the game from working is probably from a lack of SP2?

    I don't think so..I don't have SP 1 or 2 to my knowledge, this windows xp is 4? years old now, and i havent updated it. Then again, It seems the servers are down or something so I dunno if i can truly play or not. But everything up to the Authenticating ID works

    Hacker paradise your machines are. All those security flaws. Updating them increases preformace btw. Get SP2... get it fast...

    I fully updated my Windows with SP2 and every update past that and the same error keeps appearing!! Im going crazy here not being able to try this game!

    no my error is that once GameGuard finishes doing whatever its doing I get a japanese error saying that I need to turn off firewalls and virus protectors that might be interfering with the program....yet I have nothing of the sort installed. This is a fresh install of Windows XP.

    Yeah you require SP2 installed on your Win XP. It's even stated on the game requirement.
