After gameguard launches, black windowed screen and an error

Was there really an error too or did it just stay black for a while, casue I JUST finished installing and registering for play sega, and I launched and after the gameguard patch the screen was black for a while, then it finally started up, now im just patching. So if there was no error, just wait it out, other than that, im sure there is a post somewhere that deals with it.

there is an error, and its just filled with squares in the error box. I have the japanese language file and it is not helping.

If it's a bunch of boxes, chances are it's a gameguard error. Check my topic, as there are many others with the issue. Some have been able to solve it, while many others have not.
