This is a guide to chatting features in PSU (for the PC because that is what I use) I write this since there is too much to be explained in game, and yet the chatting makes PSU fun. Much of the info found here can also be found on PSUpedia (linked below) but that site is known for loading troubles and although it has a great deal of information, it is a wiki site so it should not be taken as gospel (neither should this by they way)

Basic Chat ^01^
Press the space bar and begin typing your sentance. The censor is kindy picky, but many loopholes do exists, I suggest avoiding swear words altogether, since too many @#&* in a chat can be annoying, and misplaced periods or letters is hard to read.
To perform party chat will in a lobby without looking at the paty chat window, place # berfore your sentence.
Bubbles and Static ^02^
If you wish to put your text in a tought bubble, hold control while pressing enter. For "Staticy" exciting text, hold shift while pressing enter.
Short key/macro phrases ^03^
If you are tired of typing out congrats or hello so often you can set up to 12 shortcut phrases, on the f1 - f12 keys. There are standard phrases being used, but they can be altered by pressing enter and deleting the old text.
Short-cuts for the function-key disabled.
If you happen not to have functions keys are your keyboard, fear not, you can still your short cut phrases. Press the "L" button to see a list of all your saved phrases, cycle with I (up) and K(down) then press L again to enter that phrase. If you decide against this, press J and you will close that window.
Cut-in Chat ^04^
Ah, My favorite part of PSU chat, this allows you to cut in a picture of your characters face displaying different emotions as you say the text. There are two ways of doing this, long hand and Macro, The list of facial expressions is at the end.
The long hand, or normal, way of using Cut-in Chat is pretty simple.
Hold the Tab key when you press enter for a standard chat box and you are given a picture of your characters face, you can cycle throuhg a list of 10 emotions, from happy to angry to sad, and change the camera angle. Once you find the look for your text, press enter again to show the message and your cut-in chat.
Macrod cut-in ^05^
When typing a phrase into Short-cut chat, start with an @ sign, then place a number 0-9 for the corresponding face (see the list of expressions). To chang the chat angle add a second number 1-3 ( the default is 0 or stright on).
Bubble/static macros
To add static or bubbles, place an s or a c before the numbers.
EX: @s9 will make a cut in or your character angry, using the static shout box.
Adding colors to your chat ^06^
If you type {color} before your text, it will change the color of the text ( not of the chat box, which is bases on your place in a team) Here is a list of acceptable colors that I have tested and work
red
blue
yellow
black
white
gray
green
purple
orange
beige
violet

dice/cards ^08^
One can make a random role of a 6 sided dice, or draw a random card from a standard 52 card deck.
To roll the dice, you type /dice, and you chat box will appear with /d and a number 1-6 (a picture of a dice also appears to emphasize the meaing.
For a card, you type /card, and you box appears with /c and a picture of a suit (clubs, diamonds, hearts, spades) as well as a numbers 1-13, with letters A,J,Q,K after numbers 1,11,12,13 respectively to show Aces, Jacks, Queens and Kings
Thanks to Ranzera for this info
typing /random will display a random number between 0 and 1000
Music/sfx ^09^
typing &XXX - where XXX is a three digit number from 0-140 will produce a sound from the game. I will not list all posiblities here, but if you forget any leading zeros, it will read the same, so &1 is the same as &001, NOT &100
Some "fun" sounds
&6 = level up sound
... more to come
Voices ^10^
These sounds cannot be used in the lobby, so it saves us all from voice spammersOriginally Posted by Iriscal
